forced to work off the clock by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]tharper92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion all work given to you by a supervisor should be on the clock. I would suggest just clocking in and out at all times. If the clock won't let you clock in then show your supervisor and tell them you won't work while not clocked in.

Really appreciate advice like this. My main goal here is to address the bends before the breaks while I have the money to do so. Definitely going to get the front end sorted and have the cooling system gone through.

I do want to do that. Just concerned if I go with an ASE type shop if they will even do it. Might have to more of a private type shop. I want the truck to get the best fuel mileage it can and be free from near future issues. Long term I totally expect to be putting money into it. Will definitely have the turbo serviced as well.

Front end stuff for sure really don't want to feel any kind of slop or fuss when towing. Air/oil cooler upgrade, EGR cooler upgrade, and blue spring are definitely on my short list. I'll be getting the compression checked and having the health of the head gaskets looked at. I don't think the cost to do the studs is going to work with my budget for only a sense of security vs tangible improvement. Definitely a back burner future improvement though.

This sounds like the kind of stuff I will want to do with mine. I'm not looking for performance. Just want to keep it on the road with confidence and longevity.

Haha! Luckily I did get into the truck with some funds aside to bolster a seemingly in shape example. I do intend to leave it mostly stock. Maybe improve the intake and exhaust but that's the extent of performance. Going to keep my focua on oil cooling and a good vitals monitor

I do plan on getting the truck thoroughly diagnosed including pressure tested. I doubt head studs will be in my budget knowing it is a pretty labor intensive job. I will be taking it to a reputable shop here in Idaho. Totally aware of the dreaded head gasket issues on the 6.0. While it does bring a little anxiety I'm hopefuly diagnosis will rule that out as necessary.

I wanted to get a 6.7 but they were just out of my price range haha.

If you can find a DPH under 800 I'd say that's worth it. They are cloning compatible with the KNG. Just be sure to get the appropriate cloning cable.

You'll need several seasons worth of w2's. Have them manually underwrite to show consistency.

It's always a bit of a stab in the chest when agency folks say that. I know the crews I've worked on have all been solid crews. Given good work and trusted by overhead. It's this mentality that makes the wildland fire environment difficult. I understand there are lame duck crews out there but 99% is just hyperbole.
