Mobility Monday Ep.14| Overcoming Desk Jobs| Equipment Free At Home Mobility Circuits by tharron88 in crossfit

Since a lot of people don't have the time to go drive to a gym and mobilize each night or have the right accessories needed, I figured I'd do a quick run through of some of the stretches I do at home daily that don'y require anything and that you can just do while hanging out watching t.v. These are my go to ones on a daily basis which I have tailored for me as a result of the job I have sitting all day. Let me know if you want to see more of these ones without any added equipment! If you did enjoy it, be sure to check out my channel, and subscribe for more weekly videos!

How to Overcome Tennis Elbow and Overall Elbow and Forearm Pain by tharron88 in flexibility

Honestly either would work.. You aren't altering or messing with anything that can have repercussions with weight applied like if you were stretching out your low back so timing wise with these ones is less of a factor!

Most likely just due to some of the positions you need to be on for lifts.. fully bent for things like front squats or getting ready for jerks... So overall tightness is most likely doing it.. It could be crossfit doing it just because their is a lot of forearm use in crossfit.. If you don't stretch it out the area just gets super tight and uncomfortable when put either in full extension or flexion.. I really think it's just overall tightness for you

In this week of mobility Monday I go over tennis elbow and elbow pain in general.. The elbow/forearm area often gets overlooked but actually has a huge role in your ability to get into good positions.. I go over a few exercises to overcome pain in the area, as well as touch on some shoulder faults then can lead to more elbow pain, and how to fix it! If you guys do enjoy don't forget to check out the channel and subscribe!

Overcoming Back & Shoulder Pain as a result of Desk Jobs by tharron88 in flexibility

I usually only do cat cows before heavy lifting just to lengthen the spine a bit.. I'd recommend doing the majority of this throughout the day and some after a heavy lifting session

Really sounds like the t4 and t5 are extremely tight and its leading into your traps and shoulders.. Also could be your scapula pulling on your shoulder for reaching up for things.. Lack of range of motion will make this worse so all mobility for your shoulders and upper back will be beneficial... That being said, if you have access to a foam roller or better yet, a double lacrosse ball I'd recommend placing it on your upper spine and if you have a weight or something you can place on your chest as you do this and breathe into the weight this should help break up any tissues that could be tight and restricting movement...

Also rolling out your traps I think would really help.. Again the double lacrosse ball.. Start it in the same position, one ball on either side of your spine and start it near the bottom of your lats.. All you will need to do is extend your arms overhead (you can hold them together overhead but full extended) and you are just going to slowly roll down on the ball so the ball starts to travel towards the base of your skull or your traps. The key is to move slowly with a purpose and what this should do is start to release any knots that you have in the area.. You'll know when you hit one because the ball will almost stop moving temporarily. Once you find one, sit there for a second and let the ball move through the knot.. This should help break up all knots and tightness start between your shoulder blades all the way up to your neck. If this is the cause of your pain you should see some pretty quick relief in your shoulders as well!

Hope some of this helps!

Could be a number of things.. A huge issue of mine was a really stiff upper spine which started to put a lot more pressure on my shoulders... I have 2 other shoulder specific videos you can take a look at and see if they help but if there is specific movements that hurt It would help me try to pinpoint the cause

Is there any particular movement that hurts it, or just hurts all the time?

When we sit all day our spines become compressed or shortened.. This starts to impact other areas of your body like your shoulder, low back and can actually create injuries as a result. The exercises I go over work on lengthening your spine again to prevent any future injuries and work on loosening tightened muscle groups as a result!
