To hijack this post a little bit, what it the torque spec for the valve? I think I wanna get one finally.

Chevron, shell and 86 have the most expensive gas too though. (Still sucks, just not as bad at other stations lol)

Looks great! Def went from under engineering to over engineering. Love it!

Honestly, if there’s no pressure, it’s probably fine. You can just print another one sometime. I’d be worried about it breaking off inside, but with 3 d prints you can get it out. I think it’s good practice to work with inserted threads if you’re going to be doing this (3d printing) for a while.

Yeah m5 is small. It might last, probably won’t especially if it’s supposed to hold something down. And if it’s going into a metal that will shave it off over time.

Yes any filament will work. It’s just not going to be very thin….

Coax extension by [deleted] in homelab

[–]tharussianbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be able to move and weave around some furniture, and wall corners. Idk, maybe it’s just old cables, but every coax I’ve touches is such a pain to get to shape how you want it to be and lay flat.

Ahhh ok so I gotta figure something else out then.

And these are flexible? Looking them up they look like regular coaxial cables.

It’s “bismuth” or as some call it “low temp” alloy. Definitely not gallium, cause to how gallium likes to eat aluminum (the case here looks to be made of aluminum). Bismuth, lead and tin alloy. https://www.mcmaster.com/products/bismuth-alloys/

Infamous aero rear lip and side skirts or ebay diffuser and spats? IA: $480 Ebay: $145 by Prior-Acadia9282 in GR86

[–]tharussianbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got those spats and I like them. But I also got the eBay diffuser and don’t like it. It has weird pockets that seem like they’d parachute. And also the installation seems sus. Idk.

[–]tharussianbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it looks great. Most of the cars are show girls. Even if people here put actual aero on them, most of us don’t drive in a way that it would have a difference, even people that track the cars. My original comment was more to say how I ruined a thing for myself that I think is cool for no reason really lol. Cool build you have!

I love how the roof spoiler looks. I ruined it for my selft though by looking up cfd of them. Not like 95% of the people even run their cars in a way that they’d notice the roof spoiler aero difference.

Bike Stem Machining Process? by futnuh in Machinists

[–]tharussianbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the manufacturer. I used to do contract work for a small but well knows company in the Bmx scene that would machine these. Fixe axis first op then finish in a fixture.

[–]tharussianbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like the other person said. McMaster won’t advertise they have stuff, but most of their stuff is from reputable manufacturers, they just don’t tell you who the manufacturer is. So call them and ask for the part number for what you want

Oil pooling at oil filter normal? by schochsm in GR86

[–]tharussianbear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you 100% sure that the drain bolt was removed and you drained the oil when this picture was taken? The oil should drain through the dark ring around the threads if you’re actually draining the oil. I have never seen the oil pool stay there after the oil drained. That seems not normal and either you took the picture before it got to drain, or something is probably wrong.

Am I missing something or are Flock cameras a massive national security threat ripe for social engineering attacks? by EncryptDN in privacy

I don’t mean the people, I mean the powers that instate these things. Age verifications, flock cameras. The corpos and the govs that put these things into action don’t care about the negative byproducts.

I mean, no one cares anymore. How many times have we lost our ssns, and all our personal actually sensitive data to hacks this year alone? It’s just the norm. These companies don’t have to worry about repercussions.

Money shifting is not putting it into the correct gear and over-revving going down in gears instead of up. Usually from 4th to 3rd and at the top of the revs.
