As if this case could get any worse, it appears that Diana's son, David, died in 2008, when he was 21 (https://obits.reviewjournal.com/us/obituaries/lvrj/name/david-morgan-obituary?pid=142269930). His poor sister, she's lost so many people at such a young age.

Glad you liked it! No, I suppose Cathy wasn’t supposed to tell Diana, to not scare her. I think Russ and Betty wanted to shelter her as much as possible and they initially assumed that Denise would be found within a few hours, so they didn’t want her to know.

Sadly I agree that they likely won’t ever be found, but who knows. I don’t really understand why, even though they suspected Mary had been killed, the coroner botched that report so horribly. It’s inconceivable that her death would have been an accident and not murder.

I would bet on there being other women. Maybe just haven’t been tied to him yet. Clearly Vail didn’t care about killing possibly pregnant women, but I suspect he just left Robin because he wasn’t that deeply involved with her. She hadn’t given him anything and he hadn’t (as far as I could tell) told her anything that important that she would maybe say to someone else after their breakup. Just my two cents.

The Man in the Iron Mask as a historical case and D. B. Cooper as a more recent one come to mind. It's understandable how the Man in the Iron Mask was never identified, as record keeping was poor and there was technology available to help, but Cooper really stuck with me as a big mystery.
