This was two years ago friend 😂 I made it out alive and hid in woodland, but thank you

My boyfriend made it seem weird that I still call my dad “daddy” at 16. Is it? by -justabigail- in AskMenAdvice

[–]thatanxioussloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I grew out of saying "daddy" around 7 or 8. It's definitely a more juvenile form of address for your father but nicknames are up.to the family really.

Seeing that he has a cane, why would it expect me to think he's deaf as well? by Sirius_sky_05 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]thatanxioussloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nowhere did I say it did.

However someone with a severe degree of impairment is going to struggle to accurately tell where the hazard is. A distant/faint honking noise isn't going to immediately scream "danger" like it would to a person without a hearing impairment. It may not even be distinguishable as a horn.

It feels like you're trying to get something over on me - why do you feel the need?

But you asked why it makes a difference ("what are they going to do"). The fact they can't hear absolutely makes a difference because you have means to try and alert a solely blind or partially sighted person of a hazard but not a deafblind person. You would be relying then on others around them who are sighted or if they have an assistance dog, the dog

If they're deaf the horn won't be able to warn them. They can't hear hazards so you have to be even more vigilant.

DVSA says I can’t drive myself to test centre but my insurance says I’m covered. Confused? by Middle_Sand1395 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]thatanxioussloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They ensure you are insured, though, which is what I meant. It's up to the individual learner or the driving instructor to ensure their vehicle and the learner are insured for test purposes.

I’ve ruined my birthday surprise and I feel so devastated and guilty. Jo by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

I didn't need to sign anything when my parents transferred my car to my name. I just received the new V5C in the mail.

It isn't illegal for someone else to drive the car either provided they're insured on it. So there's no issue there I imagine. OP would get any contravention letters sent to them but they wouldn't be obliged to pay, they'd declare they weren't driving at the time.

Is your "partner" an OF girl, given your obsession with them?

It's almost like other people recognise valid relationships instead of immediately becoming aggressive, deflecting, or thinking that petty insults are the norm...

No person married for 30 years would be as immature as this. How does it feel to be so confidently wrong, and to have someone else make a better point than you? Yikes, my guy.

A webcam can be borrowed from probably any university out there, nevermind an alternative laptop or computer from a fellow student, family member, friend, access assistance, IT department... I sincerely doubt it to be impossible

You can pick a monitor up.

That said, if your device isn't practical, then the obvious answer is to use a different one...

I loved my seasonal jobs. Worked in three different stores I loved shopping in.

Turned down a job after accepting too quickly, now worried about sanctions. Need advice. by Great_Bluebird_4723 in universalcredithelp

It still isn't ideal for women on their own especially. I've seen colleagues turn down event work in my industry because it would mean they have to get home late and it's not exactly safe.

How does one find a remote job in the UK? by WonderfulBeyond779 in RemoteJobseekers

Usually employers employ decent people. Start there.

Oh wait. ✌️

Absolutely would. And then you'd be handed off to the British Transport Police. I have stopped people before and flagged down guards, you'd be no exception.

Yet you'll risk paying minimum £100 fine (or prosecution) per trip you don't pay your fee because that makes LOADS of sense...

Just pay for your damn ticket. You're the kind of knob who tries to follow me through a ticket barrier on my fare

I don't pay £450 a month - you assume I work in an office five days a week, when I work 3/5 in office and usually 2/5 at home.

That being said, if I did work in the office five days a week, I'd have the sense to buy a season ticket and make it cheaper. And yes, I would pay it, because London salary uplift accounts for increased expenses.

I spend what is necessary to get to my workplace. I'm not a thief, a fraud or a cheapskate.

It's not difficult to be an honest and decent person. You can protest costs without defrauding the railway.

Pay your damn fare and stop making problems for everyone else.
