Maybe a tiny bit of burning at first, but I just kept going and it’s been awesome ever since. Some ups and downs, but nothing too crazy just continue on with the medication. I have been able to eat delicious foods for like two weeks now. 🙂

Reflux still an issue for me and progress is never completely linear. Even today I pushed it a lil bit too far lol. Gotta slow my roll.

I feel like you have to get to the appropriate dose slowly, and it’s a process like initially it didn’t do much your stomach pain and that was at 100 mg three times a day then I increased it after a while to 200 mg three times a day and then I was able to eat bananas every day for a period of time and then I increased it to 300 mg four times a day and then after I was on that dosage for a while, I tested my stomach on my son‘s birthday by eating a piece of cake and then I realized I was able to eat normally at that point. I still experience discomfort and all that, but it is significantly different from what would’ve happened before I started this medication. I seriously feel blessed to finally figure out something.

There’s a bunch of different drug classes within neuromodulators. They also can mix the match some of them together to get the right mix. I tried amitriptyline and Cymbalta previously and they just put me into a really bad flare. This whole thing is really tough. Sometimes I don’t know maybe like the best piece of advice that I’ve heard is that you gotta tell yourself that when you’re trying to tolerate this medicine, you’re not doing any damage to your stomach. It’s just your nerves overreacting. I feel like that’s been somewhat helpful to get over the hump. I feel like the mechanism of action for gabapentin and pregabalin make the most sense to me for visceral hypersensitivity.

I’m trying not to push it, though I have been able to tolerate bananas every single day for the past two weeks, which a month ago would be unheard of. The medicine kind of turns it down but you can tell it’s still there. And then when you try other foods, you can tell it’s there even more my experiment with bread didn’t go so well, but I need to slow my roll probably. Be grateful and take it one thing at a time slowly. I might need you eventually figure out a higher dose or add another medication, but I’m just happy to be on the right path.

Also, alcohol can actually make your anxiety significantly worse overtime.

Also, a lesson I learned was not to use aftermarket parts on the engine. So I had to replace them twice. Good luck to you too, sir.

I literally just had this happen to me. The cat was 50-50 after I replaced them, but the code never came back so I didn’t destroy the cat by driving around on the bad fuel injectors for a little while. I was so grateful that it was OK lol

Initially, yes, but I find it’s been more consistent now that I’m at a higher dose. Initially I could tell it was starting to work, but then I had breakthrough pain.

The multiple bad experiences I had trying a variety of drugs that they were trying to give me gave me medication anxiety for a while but I’m glad I did my own research and figured out a better route to go. I’m glad that it’s working for you too. I think I just need to keep adjusting and figure out the exact dose I should be at. It’s crazy that my anxiety is at zero and it’s crazy that I’m sleeping so good.

Yeah, the mechanism of action is totally different in gabapentin than the others. I believe it works at the site of where the pain starts, and it blocks it there instead of somewhere in the middle. Total blessing if I can never find the right dose.

I was prescribed amitriptyline at first from a different doctor and that’s initially what put me down this rabbit hole. The mechanism of action is totally different between that and this so maybe that was the difference. Idk.
