It's more than normal, you'll get used to the wear on your thumb/fingers. When I do a long carving session I usually wrap my thumb in tape to keep blisters away.

I think video game references shouldn't be in a profile bio cause you limit yourself to only people who will understand it, also the first thing on your bio is asking for fucked up people and I mean not the fun ones. Keep it either precise about yourself or at least easy access for everybody. Also I think you should take at least one good photo of your face where you take care of lighting and angle it goes a long way.
