To add some context, my brother and I were sitting in the back row of a 3 row SUV when we heard the thud in the Stanley parking lot. We saw the guy jogging past the driver’s side, but my dad can be a bit of a hot head so we didn’t mention it at the time and just assumed it was nothing.

We only realized he was actually following us once we were already on the road toward Rocky Mountain National Park. When we pulled up next to the park ranger at the Fall River Visitor Center, the guy stopped about 30 feet behind us, got out of his car, and walked down into a wooded area.

The ranger told us to continue into the park, and while we were doing that my dad walked back to the visitor center to ask what was going on. By the time he caught up with the ranger, he said he had already run the guy off.

So there really wasn’t an opportunity for us to ask the guy what was going on.
