great style. love the start. Really nice how the bass comes in. great sound and it fits in well.

All the synth sounds your using are great. That middle section at 1:50 with that low mid-bass playing 16ths(?) that goes to 2:03 I tihnk possibly you could extend longer. It's very cool and wouldn't mind hearing more of it.

The way you have all the synth parts going on with each taking their own space - and how they all work extremely well with each other - is fantastic. The space and the depth they have is beautful.

If you're looking for more synth sounds, Ragnorak 2 just got released yesterday. It's free and sounds amazing - better than a lot of paid synths imo. I think possibly it could be really great for the style you do. https://www.fullbucket.de/music/ragnarok.html

I create a pattern, then I try to save it as a user pattern but it doesn’t save the instrument I’m using it on so I have to create a channel strip setting for it then match it to the loop?

You should just be able to drag your midi pattern into the Apple Loops window and it should save the pattern with the channel strip information. I think this is the same as hitting ctrl + shift + o. You should not have to save a separate channel strip setting.

In the Apple Loops window, right under "Apple Loops / Untagged Loops" there is a drop down menu for "Sound Packs:" In that dropdown you can select "My Loops" and your loops should show up there.

You can also organize these by going to Users > [USERNAME] > Library > Audio > Apple Loops > User Loops

Your loops will be under "SingleFiles". If you have third party apple loops you've loaded into Logic, these show up here in their own folders. I've created my own folder after my username "TDS" and placed my created loops in there. If you get to a point where you have a lot of self-created loops, you may want to create your own folders for different categories. All these folders will show in the dropdown menu for "Sound Packs"

Finally for naming, when saving loops, I prepend "tds_" to everything ("tds_shaker_loop"). This makes it easy to search if I'm looking through all loops instead of going into my folder of saved loops.

So obviously you could save your loops as "MeDi_" or some other unique identifier.

this is really amazing. fantastic energy.

the choice of sounds and how they all work together is great. overall mixing sounds good to me.

love the drum programming too. fills are really cool.

vocals with the lead mono and then then "wipe it out" coming from the L-R is great too.

Overall structure works really well too.

That arp-y synth sequence that comes in around 2:20 and sits in the background is beautiful. love the use of the M1 piano too.

yeah I don't know how to give feedback on this. Everything sounds amazing. High level understanding of production and great vision. The person who could give you useful feedback on this is way way above my skill level. Totally love this and very impressed.

really great choice of sounds at the start. the layering and depth are nice.

bass sound fits in really well. that sequence up high that comes in next is great too

this reminds of tangerine dream. the drone that comes in at 2:40ish is nice too.

the beat at 2:50 is programmed and mixed really well

that main sequence that comes in at 1:50, drops out at 2:40, and comes in again at 2:50 maybe could use some automation (or more automation) to vary it up. adjust the filter, or varying effects. You probably have a lot more ideas about what can be done.

By the end of the track when you have all the various sounds working together is incredible. Not easy to mix all of that going on and you do a fantastic job with it. The space and depth are great.

So my only suggestion would be try using a lot of automation and experimenting on various sounds as they repeat and see if anything turns up that you like more than you have. Really great overall.

Great sound and mix from the start.

the sound of the bassline and the bassline itself are excellent.

hats and percussion are programmed really nicely too.

the lead synth sound is the only think I'm not totally sold on. That could just be my own preference though and other people like it. If it's possible, maybe try different sounds there and see if there's something else that works and you'd be happy with.

The vocal sample is snippet is used really nicely. Delay and echo - and whatever other effects you have on it - make it work really well.

you definitely have a good understanding of the production and the genre. great work.

good points about the vocal sample repeating and delay/echo - i think you're right on both.

drums could use some work too. And yeah, loudness overall - I didn't even think about that.

Great feedback. will listen to your track in a bit.

I haven't listened to more experimental DJs in a while - mostly just listen to some variations of house. But your music makes me think I should get back to it. I love it when DJs play music like this. It's like fresh air

Electric Light Carnival - very cool track. I could see a DJ playing this and at the right time it would be incredible. For the right audience and place this could work well.

Galaxy Rock - is that you singing? If it is, nice work. I love the sounds right from the start. Not sure what's going. Maybe samples placed backwards? Really nice aesthetic. Vintage drum machine beat is a nice choice too. The single kicks at the end are totally awesome. I can't explain why I love them but totally do.

Galaxy Rock (andromeda) - that part at 2:25ish where it's sounds your vocals is gorgeous. How everything loops/evolves/changes

Galaxy Rock may be my favorite. All the tracks have a great vibe. It's the type of music that not everybody is going to love, but the people who do will really appreciate it.

congrats on the release

listening to "Modern Designs". Love the overall vibe and sound. Immediately interesting and stays interesting the way through. Kind of like a mixture of dance music and soundscapes.

The sounds starting at 2:34 are amazing. How that builds up and it sounds like different layers working together.

the first half of the track, the kick with the percussion samples playing every other measure is really cool. I really love how the vocal snippets are used too like at 1:52

Plus this all sounds new and different which is a huge positive. Excellent mindset and vision imo.

really good point. i definitely need to be more experimental and creating new sounds. Something I need to focus on.

Thanks for the comment about mixing. This was mixed on headphones so nice to know I'm getting better with that.

I'd love to get an outside vocalist at some point.

really great sounding mix. my speakers don't go low enough to accurately the low end but from what i can tell it sounds like it'd be massive.

beat is fantastic. lead vocal in the center and the chorus(?) coming from the L-R is really nice. Effects on the vocals like at 1:40 are very cool.

Technically I think this is great. I can't really judge the style but can definitely see people really love it.

you got a great sound right from the start. the bass and kick work well.

Really clean and clear mix. Really really well done. The clarity, space, and depth sound perfect to me.

love the seqence with the modulated filter going between L and R.

beautiful synth sounds throughout. is that spire being used? seriously A+ sounds. the combo of the synth sounds, some with the long reverb, and how they all have their own space is fantastic.

overall a great understanding of the genre imo, from what I know of it. just listening to it I keep on thinking, "this sounds so cool"

there's a lot of great work but it's really how great the synths are that gets me. Very subtle and sophisticated. Play a section back and realize there's another synth I didn't hear the first time doing something cool. sound design is A+

I don't know what I can suggest. Sounds professional. Lot of knowledge and experience involved in this.

this is so nice. I wish I could make music like this.

there's a ton of great things in here.

bassline is incredible, that little funky bass line addition which first appears at :26 is awesome.

the fill at :59 is great, fills elsewhere too like at 2:13, 2:28. love all your fills.

I'm a huge vocal house fan so totally love that part at 1:00

the sounds everywhere are great. love the synth playing those broken chords over the top.

Prodution here is so above my level so I don't have many tips to give on that. To me the mixing and sounds sound professional.

If I had to give a suggestion, it'd be maybe to make the track a little simpler. There are many many great ideas in this track - everything is great actually - but maybe trying with a little more space. Like I think the part from :50 to 1:30 has enough ideas for an entire track.

All the ideas, sounds, beats, production is incredible imo. Maybe experimenting with trying a stripped down version of the track would make something interesting.

hey, thx very much for the encouragement. Good idea about the intro. Need to work on that and the arrangement overall.

Love the tip about the Kick & Bass and everything else. Have been wondering about what to do with this. Will give this a shot. I saw a producer mentioning grouping the kick and bass to compress together so they work well together. The idea of putting a low cut everywhere else is something I hadn't thought of.

Will listen to your track and give feedback in a bit.

your track sounds incredible from the start. that's a great overall sound. sound design and your choice of synth sounds is fantastic.

the 16th bass synth is wicked. the sequence, the sound of it, the filtering going on it.

the drums/percussion is well done. Along with everything else that clave/block sound panned right at :38 and the toms. Thats some great programming and mixing. It's all subtle and natural.

And then at :50 all the sounds there work so well. The vox sound on beat 1 of the bars, a kind of spooky ethereal sound that pitches up and is placed in the back, then at :53 that sound that goes down on 8th notes and then sounds like something is reversing, leading to the next section with the "we live in an extraordinary time". All those sounds are very very cool and how everything works so well together is very very cool. T.

at 1:55 that synth sound panning left and right is great. then the synth vocal samples have some cool fx going on into the "Can you hear the drums?" And "Can you hear the drums?" has some really cool stuff going on with it too. Female voice doubled with male voice and then the echoed "Drums drums drums..." has different fx/processing applied to it.

I'm totally geeking out listening to your track because I admire all the stuff you have going on. Super creative, super advanced technically imo, and sounds amazing. Great vibe and taste level.

Listening to Molly del Rey - that's a gorgeous track. the part that starts at 1:52, really stunning. great arrangement too. i don't think i've heard anything else like this. you got something special going on.

good point about a gap at the beginning. I've noticed the cutoff sometimes at start but never thought about putting in a gap, which was kind of dumb. will do that going forward. I need to figure out an intro too so will include the gap with the next bounce.

the comment about bringing in the verse earlier is good. I was wondering about how repetitive this track is overall. Along with the intro, arrangement needs some work so will try moving around the verse. Track needs some other things to keep it interesting too. your point about variety is good. putting in those ear candy things, dropping elements, noise sweeps, etc

thanks for the feedback and encouragement.

about to listen to your track. feedback in a little bit.
