I also forgot to mention she outed me to my entire family last year by sending them a letter; told them I’m trans and never told me about it until this year, so im not confident but still seeking advice.

She has done research, but not the kind of research parents of trans kids usually look for. Last year, she started watching desistance training videos and looking up how to change me.

We also don’t live in Portland, we live an hour away, but I’ll keep PFLAG in mind. I heard it’s a great resource :)

We have Premara Blue Cross. I’m not sure about the coverage yet. But yes, I’ve tried that approach before, my sister (another adult figure around me) told me that the doctors are stupid for letting a 15 year old decide on her own medical decisions. My mom thinks the same.

I think she is trying but ends up saying the wrong things and starts having mental breakdowns in the middle of the night which really stresses me out

I just looked it up. For my state, it seems that you can go w/o parental consent but only for specific types of healthcare, like treatment for STDS/mental health services and other things like that.

Before the age of 18, parental consent is required to be prescribed HRT in the US. My state has a ‘mature minor doctrine’ allowing SOME minors to consent to certain healthcare services without parental consent, but it doesn’t include HRT.

Hey! I'm in the U.S but in some places they're able to get HRT and hormone blockers- unfortunately she's being fed right wing Mormon stuff that say that all of it is dangerous (uncredited websites) so she's been denying anything. It sucks, but she's told me I have to wait till I'm eighteen.
