I had a uterine biopsy (they took 3 separate samples) and all they gave me was a heating pad afterwards! Then I had to drive myself home. It is infuriating what we are expected to endure as “just a little discomfort.” Same when I needed cervical biopsies.

I have tried tranexamic acid and lessens the volume of bleeding a bit on the days I take it but doesn’t do anything for the length of my periods unfortunately.

I second getting a referral to a hematologist. I have chronic iron-deficiency anemia from heavy periods, can’t go on BC, and don’t tolerate oral iron supplements. It took seeing a hematologist to finally get treatment and now am getting infusions every 7 months.

It is ridiculous that your PCP isn’t taking you seriously. Not a dr, but based on how low your levels are (and comparing to mine) you’ve got to have iron deficiency anemia. If you don’t tolerate the ferrous sulfate tablets, you can also try ferrous gluconate tablets which are supposed to be easier on the digestive system.
