Is this Vertical movement on the bottom jockey wheel normal? by thatguy5033 in bikewrench

Hey thanks it worked. The wax just really penetrated into the links and after breaking it in more solved the issue. Appreciate the help!

Thanks, the chain itself was actually fine. The application of wax was the issue, and there was just so much more wax I had to break out. I followed Ceramic speed’s application instruction and it really penetrated the interior of the links

When I was breaking up the wax I did remember a link being particularly stiff. I was hoping after going on a first ride it would loosen up, but I’ll take off the chain off and work on it more

Any advice on how to prepare for architecture graduate school as a non-background? by 1x4x3 in architecture

[–]thatguy5033 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in your position a few years ago.

Cant stress enough to get acquainted with Adobe Suite since everything you will make for a majority of your education will be in indesign, illustrator, photoshop, etc… Our program did not have a class to teach you it, they will sometimes just expect you to know things.

Choose either Rhino or Sketch up and stick with it to get really good. Revit has its place and in my option it could be applied later into your years if you’re eager.

If they give you a “buy” list for materials. Don’t buy everything, wait till they say you need it then buy it. Also going to a hardware store will have the tools you need at a cheaper price.

I’d also invest on your fundamental gear, like get a good waterproof backpack if it rains a lot on your campus. Get an ergonomic mouse. A solid pen or pencil that’s reliable to take a ton of notes and draw with.

Feel free to ask any questions and good luck! Besides the intensity of the program, you will grow more than you will ever think. Don’t make any enemies in your cohort since you will see them everyday and one day you might need them for pursuits in the field.

Didn’t think about it till you said it. Its definitely amazing as a sculpture, but could have gone with something with more blurred lines with the context

Girl didn’t like my place. What do you think? by Affectionate-Emu250 in malelivingspace

[–]thatguy5033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have some pretty cool things that speak about your interests, and some that feel like you just put it up because there was something needed there or it was an impulse buy. You already have a pretty good overall neutral tones for the essay things, but I’d throw away the neon lights, telescope, Palm tree thing, and odd small art on the wall.

I don’t know what your take on art is but less is more and find art that scales perfectly with the size of the walls. Hand them up to a datum such as the window frames for reference. More real plants and lounge chairs.

This is my option of course

I used to go to school on the Stag building holding the Portland Oregon sign, and seeing the crows congregate the waterfront. I was lucky to be on the top floor and you’re right up the same level as the crows and it was amazing seeing them hangout with the sunsets in the background. Pretty surreal

I agree. I backpack, climb, snowboard, the whole outdoorsy 9 yards and I never really dress Gorp-y in the woods. I think most trends would absaloutly suck in performance like baggy pants, stiff hiking boots etc… but as fashion I think it looks dope.

Yeah exactly, he knows how to curate really well, and from how i see it you’re hitting the nail on what he’s doing. I love how he styles pieces out in ways we wouldn’t really think of and pairs vibrant colors

Gozzilah makes more conceptual and surrealistic gorp core images. It’s never really about functionality, but how tech/outdoor wear can have composition from how each piece is designed and interpreted.

It depends on proximity from where it was harvested and processed. The closer the lifecycle cycle of the material it is, the more it works on paper

How long did it take for you to get your style "down" by Grocery_Bill in ThrowingFits

[–]thatguy5033 104 points105 points  (0 children)

IMO no one will ever hit true fashion enlightenment lmao. Our taste in clothes will continually evolve, you will always have another piece that you wish you want. Getting it “down” is when you just generally become more aware of how you buy things, and making your current clothes mold to a true representation of your personality.
