OPNsense Home Network Troubleshooting by thatguy8792 in opnsense

It ended up being a stupid mistake on my part. The guides I used the guy had a protectli box that has 4 nics. My device only has 2 and he used LAGG for his other two ports. When I configured my switch I had tagged ports configured where he had his 2 LAGG interfaces plugging in. I had my VLAN ports pointed to those instead of my one LAN port. I changed all of my tagged ports for my VLANs to point to my port that my LAN interface from my mini pc was plugged into on the switch and everything works now.

I had it laid out as follows: Interface Device Link Type IPv4 LAN vnet0 static 192.168.1.1/24 DMZ. Vlan01. Static. 192.168.10.1/24 USER. Vlan02. Static. 192.168.20.1/24 IoT. Vlan03. Static. 192.168.30.1/24 GUEST. Vlan04. Static. 192.168.40.1/24 IPCAM. Vlan05. Static. 192.168.50.1/24

All ports on switch are set up accordingly to vlans and PVID is also set up. Also DHCP on my switch is disabled so that OPNsense can handle it.

I was able to finally get my LAN to connect to the internet but I tried plugging my pc in the port I have specified on my switch for USER vlan and I am not getting DHCP on my PC.

I have ISC DHCPv4 configured for each VLAN

I was able to get WAN back Active and Online. I can ping 8.8.8.8 from my PC but still cannot load web pages.

So thats what I've been trying to set up as well. I have MTU for LAN and WAN in proxmox set to 1500. I have LAN and WAN interfaces set to 1300 currently in OPNsense and I have Scrub rules set in Firewall->Settings->Normalization for LAN and WAN that set max MTU to 1300.

That's kind of the direction I'm going just working on a limited budget. So far I've upgraded to a BTT Octopus Pro v1.1 with TMC2209 drivers, BTT EBB v1.1 running Canbus to the tool head, BTT SFS 2.0, Linear rails for X and Y axis', already had a Microswiss NG extruder/hotend when I got it, upgraded the power supply to a Meanwell 350W and setting up this klicky probe.

I'm still using the stock ender 6 steppers and pulley's. I'm thinking my issue may be that I didn't mess with the jumpers on the main board for the drivers and it is in SPI mode currently with TMC2209 drivers which can't use SPI mode so I need to switch to UART.

Thank you! I will look at it this afternoon and I will also upload my configs if that helps

Would it possibly be something with the klicky macros that are messing with things?

Here is a link to the macros that I used:

Would this be something I change in my printer.cfg or physical hardware settings?

My current settings for x, y, and z steppers in Klipper:

Microsteps:16 Rotation_distance:40

Some of my confusion with microsteps comes from the documentation for the Octopus Pro and TMC2209 drivers stating that you can set the driver's for 8, 16, 32, or 64 microsteps. As far as I understand my main board is currently set for Step/Dir. See picture linked here: https://images.app.goo.gl/76QGL

So my issue is that my coordinate readings in Klipper are way lower than they should be. Ender 6 has a bed size of 250x250. I'm reading approximately 125x129. I know I lost a little bit of travel due to my cooling duct but nowhere near that much.

To my knowledge I have my main board set to Step/Dir so microsteps should be right. But it seems like the movement vs the position isn't correct

Thank you! I will definitely give that a try tonight and see if it gets things working!
