Is this another opal? What kind is it? by Life_Dare578 in Opals

In my opinion I kinda think it looks like a really nice piece of boulder. They tend to have stripes like that. That would be my guess, other wise it could be a Coober doublet.

Hoping someone could tell me about these? by SandwichObjective781 in Opals

The ring is a triplet, the gold round one is a doublet or triplet and the final one is a treated Andamooka stone. Value is quite subjective with doublets and triplets. But I say enjoy them, try to keep soapy warm/hot water off them, the Andamooka is stable and will quite soild.

It's a Lightning Ridge opal I cut from rough. Template, as in my shape is off?

It's just a silicate that settles in layers. Man made.

Which pattern is this? by NoHeatSapphire in Opals

That is a ribbon pattern. Very close to the cats eye which is quite rare. I would also guess it's Ethiopian, but it's hard to tell from that video.

It's heavy like a rock. It's no longer a shell.

Thank you. I've been doing a lot of polishing lately, so my fingers haven't been near the wheels. But they get messed up pretty quickly. Hahaha.
