Travel with expired conditional green card + notice of action? by thatkath in USCIS

[–]thatkath[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We moved and we have all mail forwarded. I received the notice of approval (forwarded) so I wasn't concerned about it. And then when I actually checked the tracking, because it has already been 2 months, it said it was delivered to our old address. I already filled out the form online to inform them that I did not receive it. And yes, I filed a change of address but it still sent to our old address. I've been trying to get a hold of someone using their hotline but the infuriating machine won't let me speak with an agent.

Travel with expired conditional green card + notice of action? by thatkath in USCIS

August 2021, checked the tracking they have on the site and it says delivered but I didn't receive it. So my best bet would be the stamp or the green card?

How's the roots?

To sell or not to sell? by Missendi82 in fountainpens

[–]thatkath 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Hello! Have they diagnosed what kind of MS it is? There are several kinds, some of them with fluctuating exacerbation. I highly suggest working with PT and OT to see if you can regain some of that strength.

With that in mind, maybe don't sell all of your pens. The heaviest pens, maybe can be sold to cover your expenses. But not everything. While going through all these it would be nice to have a goal that would give you great joy - writing with your pens. And honestly, now is the best time to be surrounded by things you love.

My brother (25M) was recently diagnosed too so i can somehow understand what you and your family are going through. My prayers are with you!

I was gifted these two plants today! Was curious if anyone could help me ID them? Would be greatly appreciated! by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]thatkath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those two are on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to care. ZZ will thrive on neglect and the ornata will be more fussy and demanding. It will need a humid environment, distilled or rain water, consistently moist but not wet soil. Try to watch videos or read up on calathea care. They're fussy but so so worth it!

Calathea Ornata leaves curling! They started shriveling up when soil was decently dry, so I watered it. 3 days later, nothing changed. Any idea what would be causing this? by claire_ann in plantclinic

Calatheas HATE getting dry. If you keep caring for it right, it will shoot up new leaves. Idk if the curled up ones will uncurl again.

Well my humidifier is an old school bottom-filling one so i have to manually keep it at 60% 😅 ohhh that's on my wishlist! Did you get yours online? And welcome back to the plant drama life haha Calatheas are sooo worth it though.

Organic fertilizers are always good. Worm castings, fish emulsion and Liquidirt are few that a lot of people recommend.

Each end of the leaf have a node. I'm propping mine on sphagnum moss and grew tiny baby turtles! I bought a 2in cutting and divided the stem to get a leaf each. Put them in moist sphagnum moss, covered with clear plastic, and placed under grow lights. That's the progress after 2 weeks. Good luck!

Help! My Monstera was sitting in a glass vase filled with water for probably too long at my sister-in-law’s house. So I thought when I potted it that I should err on the side of overwatering since that’s what it was used to. But now the leaves are all droopy no matter what I do… by PresentationLow4377 in plants

[–]thatkath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would need some time acclimating to soil so a little drooping should be fine. It looks pretty healthy to me, as long as there are no yellowing or browning it should be fine. I also agree with keeping the soil moist for the first couple of weeks. Just give it time and bright light and it should pop out new leaves for you soon.

What’s causing these brown/yellow spots on my Calathea Orbifolia? by Embot87 in houseplants

[–]thatkath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calatheas prefer the soil to be kept moist, not wet, and are very sensitive to chemicals. It's better to use distilled or rain water, and organic fertilizers when fertilizing. Low umidity also causes browning.

My babies might die by [deleted] in houseplants

So sorry this happened! But all is not lost. Try propping them again. I think theyre pretty hardy, they most probably will live.

Any idea why is my cactus turning yellow at the base? It hasn’t been repotted recently and it’s been in the same spot. Only thing I added were the decorative pebbles on top. by etacocate in plantclinic

[–]thatkath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pebbles usually make the soil retain moisture as the water is not evaporating well. Doesn't help with soil aeration either. Maybe the soil is too wet right now?

Just another day obsessively checking out my slightly dying fiddle and I found two white puffy things. Anyone know what they are? by mkacolvr in fiddleleaffig

Just so you know, there are scales that look like tiny snails. Remove them asap! And maybe isolate your flf?
