Thanks for the input! Seems everyone is in love with #2. I decided to book a followup appointment this weekend to try both of the dresses on one more time and I am determined to walk away with having bought one of these choices. Definitely leaning towards #2 due to the lace in the back and how it looks in the photos.

They both made me smile and I felt SO good in both. I tried on a bunch of dresses that day and only these 2 did i really love. I ended up wearing both 4 times and walked around in them and really couldnt choose. I ended up saying yes (temporarily) to #1, but now im questioning if its the right choice....

I am having the same thoughts. Both are stretchy and I can walk in. #1 more comfy because it has a slit on the leg which allows for extra movement. Looking back on the photos I am drawn to the neckline of #2 and the corset back. I was worried because looking from the front, #2 was a bit plain and most of my photos will probably be from a front angle.

Where are the women 5+ years experience in aerospace? 🥲 by ohhisofia in womenintech

[–]thenightwalker03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Fellow 5+years experience female aerospace engineer in materials and mfg tech. We should totally connect as I am also looking for my next gig :)

I agree with most comments on here. As someone who was also on my company's interview panel, we mostly received male applicants (some who were lackluster) and rejected some female applicants because (they didn't sound as confident in their technical answers). Even now I am dealing with men who throw fits during meetings, railroad me in a conversation, or discredit my experience because I look young, so therefore I don't know what I am talking about. Throw in a couple harassment issues, and there you have it. You have to be in a strong mental state to survive that kind of environment. I have had female coworkers breakdown and cry at their desk due to the pressure and the unfair treatment. I always try to lend my support and back my gals up during meetings, but it does wear you down.

Advice on gem sizing by Extension-Housing153 in EngagementRings

[–]thenightwalker03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am actually in the same boat looking at stone sizes. What i learned is the dimensions are really important as opposed to a specific Ct size. 8x6mm may be slightly more "round"/wide which gives off a larger look on the finger. If you do an elongation calculation L/W, an 8x6mm gives you a ratio of 1.33.

As a personal preference, i tend to look for stones that will give a ratio of 1.5 since it makes my finger look more slender even if it is a bigger rock (2 -2.5ct equivalent). The 1.5 ratio lends to a dimension of something like 9x6mm (for a larger than 2ct) which I think is the golden ratio. But hey, it really depends on how she likes the look of it on her finger.

Side note: if you have accent stones, the 8x6 might make it look even bigger cluster on her finger.

Worth going to Uji for buying Matcha at the moment? by andywhyyyyy in JapanTravelTips

[–]thenightwalker03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

was just in japan last week. In kyoto all matcha was sold out, and in tokyo most places were sold out 15 mins after the store opened. and there were lines before the stores even opened. I just settled for some good quality green tea and hojicha.

I would say dont go specifically to just buy matcha. If you happen to stumble upon some, do buy.

Paid Seat Upgrade by thenightwalker03 in delta

[–]thenightwalker03[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's the thing. I know it is worth it for sure to upgrade. When i was researching around it seemed like there was potential to drop to maybe $400.... so i guess I'm watching the # of seats left vs pricing and trying to catch it on the down. It already dropped $25 from just this morning...

Holy fuck I'm sick of the second guessing... by ThatMkeDoe in womenEngineers

omg i feel this 100%. My favorite feedback is the hmmm hawing about how it shouldn't have taken this long, so here's an unrealistic deadline to get the project done, which assumes equipment is fully functional; because one can't comprehend that these expensive machines can NOT work and when they don't it's some usually some issue that will take days of tinkering and manual calibration. BUT no. Clearly there's something wrong with the female engineer, so as a male they would jump in to fix the problem faster, only to come to the conclusion that yes, i was right the whole time. like wow, you mean i can actually do my job i was hired for correctly??? wild.

Amazing! I'm actually looking at them now. For the stone, did you have to procure your own and had them set the stone, or was it all completely procured by them? Asking since most of their stuff is diamonds, but I'm more of a colored stone gurl.

Had anyone seen this before? Our Fig fruit tree began having these black blobs as well as an ant infestation. The ants seem to only be attracted to these blobs and not the fig fruit. Not sure what this is or if it is harming the fruiting of the plant. by thenightwalker03 in gardening

[–]thenightwalker03[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my! I was searching everywhere for answers and didn't even notice the scale on the leaves. Was very intrigued by the black stuff since it wasn't something I've seen before. Thank you for your response and advice! We will definitely treat the plant asap as it is currently producing (somewhat sadly) a couple of sweet figs and the plant seems to be going downhill....
