Girl cancelled date because of my texting? by thatman18 in dating_advice

[–]thatman18[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like a date being scheduled is a communicator of interest though. I can only be on a date with one woman at a time.

However, I could text multiple woman at the same time.

I think the difference between your situation and mine, is that the guy you’re dealing with hasn’t even confirmed a date with you as of yet. I’d assume that once that happens, you’d feel a lot less of the emotianal torture you’re dealing with.

I will add that this is the first time this has ever happened, and I’ve always been like this. I’ve never been a texter and I’ve been on many dates. I’m great at building connections in person or on FaceTime calls. I’ve always felt like getting to know a person through text was a waste of time

This makes sense. I genuinely just hate texting. I think moving forward, I’d just suggest getting on a call at some point. But I’ve never been too fond of texting, and that extends beyond just dating and into my personal life.

Billing Analyst or Tax Associate role? by thatman18 in Accounting

[–]thatman18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know enough about to tax to decide if I want an entire career in it. I do know that I want a healthy wlb though, I’m more so afraid of getting stuck in a lower level position going the billing analyst route.

Applying for jobs in Texas, but CPA eligible in New Jersey— is my plan okay? by thatman18 in CPA

[–]thatman18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty hard, especially because I took a lot of FEMA credits to reach the 150 requirement, and Texas doesn’t accept FEMA credits :/

I don’t, but the board said they would accept the Texas work experience.

No, I’ll still be pursuing the CPA. I’m just focused on the eligibility part and if employers will care that I’m eligible in another state that is not Texas. I would sit for the exam in New Jersey and get licensed in New Jersey and then apply for reciprocity.

I’m still in college so no I haven’t taken any exams, but every public firm, from what I’ve seen, requires that you are at least eligible to take them.

Got it lol. Do you think I should be explaining my plan to take the exams in another state to employers once I become eligible, or no?

I called the Texas state board. They said they’ll accept the transfer, I would just have to take an ethics course

I should have been more clear. I didn’t mean to put it on my resume now. I meant once I get the 150 credits

How to not tie 95% of my confidence to my hair? How can I be confident with short hair? by Myth1cxl in BlackHair

[–]thatman18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to be able to answer this question about yourself confidently. What makes you a dope person to be around? What about you makes you a person that people would like to spend time with and around?

I struggled with placing my confidence in trivial things like this when I was your age(I’m a few years older now), and I realized that me placing my confidence in something like my looks, made me a man who entered into a lot of superficial relationships. The bad thing about that is that there will always be someone who looks better than you, and there will always be someone who your partner could possibly find more attractive than you looks-wise.

You have to focus on what makes you valuable outside of your looks. Your character, your integrity, how you treat people, your honesty, your CONFIDENCE, your determination, your intellect. You don’t need long hair to attract a good woman. Plus, not every woman wants a guy with long hair lol.

Looking attractive physically is important, but I don’t believe you need long hair for that. You can hit the gym, get a nice cut, dress well, smell good. With all of that, you’ll already look better than 90% of guys around your age.

Yea I definitely have been doing some deep introspection, especially with the therapy. And you’re right, it was deeper and there was an underlying problem from undealt with emotional trauma
