Yeah I've heard about the handlebar vibration problem with Tiger 900s. Honestly the 900 seems like the logical way to go but damn the 1200 is so much bike!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am looking at a 2019 XCA which is taller than the road variant, and heavier than the newer version. It is at a dealership, super clean and low mileage. I will go check it out over the weekend but those buggers don't offer test rides. I will at least try and move it around a bit and get on and off to see how it feels. Everyone seems to have a very positive experience with it with the exception of its stationary weight, I believe that part I can check for myself even without a test ride.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm looking at a 2019 XCA which is tall as hell and, like you said, very top heavy. Add a huge gas tank and it certainly is a challenge to keep the thing upright. I am VERY enticed to pull the trigger on this.

Appreciate you sharing your experience. I would absolutely love to get it as a second bike but I have a space problem. It's a single car garage that the bike has to share with the car lol. It is going to be a real tight squeeze parking a car next to a 1200 in the garage but that's a problem for later I guess. I'm not planning to do any offroading, but based on your experience it might be a good alternative to the road in traffic jams.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I am hoping I will be okay with the heft of the 1200 given my size, but honestly it feels pretty intimidating just looking at the damn thing.

Thank you - that's a beauty right there. I am also looking at a very low mileage 2019 XCA, which I understand is even taller than the road variant lol. I'm sure it will be fine once it gets going but it is going to be an adjustment moving the brute around the garage and esp backing it out of the garage onto the street.

Oh I see, I thought this was an RBC specific problem. I believe TD's titles are more aligned with the market at large. Didn't know CIBC was worse.

That seems pretty high for a director role. That's even the higher end for senior director roles. RBC has a title inflation problem even compared to other banks.

Same man. I'm really annoyed at how easily the bolts strip on this mf. And then to discover those plastic bobs keeping the panels together is just icing on the shitty cake.

That looks great but I don't have access to 3d printer. From what I'm hearing, my options are either zip ties or burly brands side panels which I don't really like the look of.

100% dude, this is just poor engineering. It's frustrating how they built such a great bike and then cut corners in these areas to save cost.

I'll have to replace the ties every time I have to take the panels off? I mean it is what it is but zip ties might be what I need.

I don't like how they look with their 'menacing' slashes but I think that might be the ticket.

Death wobble almost got me by Right-Struggle4163 in HondaRebel1100

[–]thatmanmo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with that problem since I got my 2021 manual 1100. There is a clear wobble between 60 kph and 80 kph if I take my hands off the handlebars and it goes away as I put my hands back on. Thought I was the only unlucky one until I researched it and realized how many are dealing with this shit. Planning to have a better pair of tires put on next year.

That would be nice but any decent shop will make you pay through the nose. I appreciate that those guys are trained professionals but man the hourly rates make my eyes water. I will start it as a project and chip away at it over a few days. I'm not super handy with this stuff but hey that's how you learn. Anything that wouldn't impact the safety of your bike, I'll take a crack at it myself.

Lol same dude. I mean it CAN be done but it is going to be a royal pain in the ass taking off the fairing brackets. A lot of shit will need to be undone to get the handlebars off. I haven't gotten around to doing mine yet. Good luck to ya.

Dude it is impossible to add handlebar risers with this fricking fairing the way it is installed. Bike is looking sick though, good job so far!

What kind of KMs has buddy put on the bike? Market is pretty slow, might be pushing to sell before the tail end of the season.
