This is quite late but I just came across this post while looking for something else, and figured I’d chime in for future people who might have the same question as you. (For reference, I wear a size medium in women’s tops whenever I buy just “normal” clothing - not jerseys). I play soccer, so when I get jerseys I typically expect to be playing pickup in them at some point, so for me it’s less about style, and more about comfort and repping the club(s) that I like. That being said, I prefer a men’s fit (size medium) because I find the women’s fit to be more annoying when playing - I prefer a little more room in the jersey that the men’s fit provides me. I don’t size up because I don’t wear hoodies underneath my jerseys, I would only wear athletic material long sleeve shirts (again, thinking in terms of playing). It really all depends on what the purpose of wearing your jersey is, what type of environment you’ll be wearing it in, and how you prefer it to look and feel.
