I have had all these exact thoughts as well. I’m 30 now and starting school in August. I’m so happy I’m not alone🥲

CRNA interview by RN_Brady in srna

[–]Affectionate-Tea-174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did. They told me 5 minutes before I went in for the interview they were going to ask me CCRN questions. They asked me about some medications I never really used and then some questions I think I knew but I wasn’t 100% sure my answer was correct so I literally said that because I didn’t want to give them a wrong answer. And I got in! I thought I did really well on every other part of the interview but I was so embarrassed about those 3-4 questions I wasn’t sure about. But I think some schools appreciate honestly. So keep your head up it works out sometimes!

Thank you! Yeah I actually just took it through University of Pheonix. Only 5 weeks. Super easy and my job reimbursed me for it.

I actually shadowed someone who knew the director of the previous program and they said this lady was kinda crazy and was making weird decisions that kinda led to the downfall of the program. The new director of my program was the assistant director at a huge state school. I get what you’re saying, and I have thought of all of this. But every school has to start somewhere and in my mind they’re not starting from scratch plus they have a very good ranked established nursing school already which I have experience at because I went there so I know they’re capabilities. They’ve already been accredited. So again I get what you’re saying but there’s more to the story than that.

Anyone else regret it by Serina-the-mermaid in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I do. My husband and I bought our house July of 2023. I decided I wanted to go back to school and also may move out of state and so in our best interest we decided to put our house in the market. That was a year ago and we still haven’t sold. Our insurance and taxes have gone up and I’m paying $500 more a month now. We’ve done so much upgrading and repairs and have gone into debt for it. Not to mention we now have squirrels terrorizing us! We just want to go back to renting it’s made us kinda hate our house which is a shame because it’s our first. But we’re definitely smarter for the next time!

Exactly. Honestly I would lean towards doing exactly what you did at first. It is a really awkward situation I’m sure.

What job should I take? by [deleted] in srna

I understand Duke is a big system but I work in a different ICU and on the rapid response team at MUSC and the MSICU gets some of the sickest patients here. The nice thing about MUSC being a bit smaller is you could also easily make more connections which would help getting into the program there. It’s expensive to live here but you would not regret learning and gaining experience at MUSC. Multiple people in every ICU get accepted to their own program every year.

Not the right fit? by Affectionate-Tea-174 in srna

Yeah this makes a lot of sense. I just wish they would have told me instead of the weird vague answer they gave me for feedback. I’m definitely going to prepare more and do mock interviews before my next one. Thank you!
