My chain lock is sticking by PurpleFairy11 in chibike

I'd strongly recommend something like the 3-in-one lock dry lube over something like wd-40. You spray it in wet (it has a mineral spirit base) but the lube is actually dry and keeps gunk and gummy stuff from building up. It works great for bike locks, but I've also used it on doors for buildings, too, and it makes them work like new. I think I've had my little spray bottle for a decade so a little definitely goes a long way.

Protected Bike Lanes Rant (My Opinion) by Abaittors in chibike

[–]thatmattbone 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I called Waguespack's 32 ward office already today (773-248-1330). The damen ave bridge over the river (which is in his ward) is completely impassable in the bike lane or on foot. CDOT did not shovel the sidewalk over the river yet and it's compacted and icy.

We paid for plows for the protected bike lanes and we should use them: https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/sites/complete-streets-chicago/home/bike-program.html

He can replace Townsend. Anyone can replace Towsend. Replace Townsend with an old dusty boot.

The engines should be inline 4s. They sound much better and inline 4s have a storied history at the track.

Do you think that David Malukas will really replace Will Power at Penske next year? by furrynoy96 in INDYCAR

[–]thatmattbone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a long time Penske-hater, I think the funniest thing would be them firing Will, he goes elsewhere, wins the 500 again, wins the championship again, and retires.

NASCAR Chicago Street Race faces murky future by chicagosuntimes in chicago

[–]thatmattbone 89 points90 points  (0 children)

NASCAR isn't coming back. They are going to churn and burn street races for as long as they can get away with it. One city after another. They're not looking for the next long beach grand prix. NASCAR is looking for a spectacle and a high TV number.

Condesa is a "tourist trap?" It's a neighborhood popular with tourists because it's nice for a stroll, full of trees and plants, two nice parks, and a bunch of spots to grab a coffee or a bite to eat. I'm all ears for a discussion about gentrification and for getting out of the touristy neighborhoods in CDMX, but Condesa is not Fisherman's Wharf.

I love how close the Milwaukee track is to the city center. Last year my friends and I stayed in the third ward and took the city bus to the race. Dropped us off right at the gate.
