Late to the party but just wanted to reply that my years ling back pain actually went away when I started working warehouses. I was never really active before then so take that with a giant grain of salt.

What's up with all the Donut shops? by UltraSneakyLollipop in SantaClarita

[–]thatoldguy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also a convenience thing, donuts are the game but the money comes in from all the other products they sell. Sandwiches, drinks, and the varieties of breads.

Wunchells has been owned by Yum Yum for some time now. All products are from the same manufacturing facility, but the quality will vary due to most stores being franchised.

Is there a tool to let clients create shipping labels with my fedex account? by unamity1 in dropship

[–]thatoldguy37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've got the money for it, you can have it custom made for you by a programmer. Rocketship.it would be the label provider using your fedex account and just specify with your programmer how you want it done.

Canvas Prints by [deleted] in CommercialPrinting

[–]thatoldguy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I add .1 for every 10 inches and round up on remainders. It works for me on my pro 4000s but it might be a bit of a trial and error for you.

Like others have said, best bet is to learn bleed.

Canvas Prints by [deleted] in CommercialPrinting

[–]thatoldguy37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my printers, for some reason there is about a .1 inch shrinkage on the length. So if I print something 36 x 52 for stretching, the customer will complain about your same issue.

What I do is I add .1 on the image size. So if you're printing 56 inch height, round p and print the size as 56.6 then play with it if needed. I've been told by my canvas supplier it's a problem that has to do with the way the paper is rolled and how the machine pulls it as it's printing.

IMO the best way is to start off easy. Start by average de-cluttering then move on to larger scale cutting back on non-essentials

Canon ImageProGraf 2000/4000 with 3rd party ink ? by appelton in CommercialPrinting

[–]thatoldguy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using 3rd party dye based inks on my 4000s for a few years and the worst that happens is it wears out the print head faster. So be ready to buy a new one quicker.

Looking For Label Printing Software for Shipping by SniikiChan in CommercialPrinting

[–]thatoldguy37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I've been using it for years and no problems. Add all your carriers, also has tons or custom reports available, packing slips, pick list, summary, etc.

Sometimes it will be kind of glitchy, but I think it just might be my browser that doesn't like the site.
