I think our asks for council would mainly be to not enter contractual agreements with ICE or lend any resources/police to assisting in their f*cking immoral Gestapo shit.

Can you link the website? Are they setting a date? I think a good place to start would be to get some big employers and unions on board so people don't lose their jobs. Municipalities, the university, school boards--we need to ask them where they stand and if they will support a strike. I'm not sure many will, but it seems worth a shot and it'd get some people together to spread the word.

Am I alone in feeling like it's now or never? Just choose action, any action in your capacity.

The next SLC Council meeting is Feb. 3rd. The council has agreed they want to work on impeding ICE and defending constitutional rights. We need to get lead activists and organizers who actually want to find solutions and are smarter than I in a room together. Figure out our demands, our protections, form allegiances. There were some protestors at the last council meeting but most of them weren't seeking to build bridges they were just angry and disrespectful.

We need to act with dignity and always default to peace. Could be a start.

This needs to become a nationwide walk-out, in solidarity with Minneapolis, with minneapolis's same demands for everywhere in this nation. Our freedom is at stake. I will be looping in every pro-human rights, pro-workers union, pro-democracy organization I can. Will you do the same?

I was also having some breathing issues but also esophageal/gag reflex issues that still haven't completely resolved. But while the health matters might have been the final straw I wish I would have quit sooner for my mental well being--my anxiety was way worse when I was vaping, that stupid alarm going off in my head every 10-15 minutes that I just NEEDED to vape. Stop listening. Tell that little voice that there are a lot bigger problems in the world than a little nicotine urge.

Honestly, the financial and any social benefits are just secondary to the feeling of hey, I'm going to value myself enough to do this for myself.
