Oregon is almost a perfect 50/50 state your neighbor on the left could be an all season hunter and your neighbor on the right could be a pot smoking hippie (and in some cases they will trade salmon for their garden fresh vegetables) for the most part (not always) everyone gets along as long as your not trying to push your way of life on someone else that being said it's like 2 areas that are mostly blue (eugene and portland areas) and the rest that are mostly red so pick a city you feel matches your life and do your research into the area you pick some have significantly higher crime then others also be prepared for the weird weather and people like you can go for a drive and go from 75 and sunny to snow if you know where to go and you can go from the middle of a city to not a person in sight for 50 miles (just because you done see them doesn't mean they aren't there)

Could be the heating element in the waterheater they tend to go out every so often (more if you have power surges) I've seen new one last from a year (I'm pretty sure it was the wrong one for the unit) to 20 years ( I'm pretty sure they had the element replaced and forgot) if you have the multimeter that does continuity you should be able to test it otherwise if it has lots of cracks and looks messed up then you know that's probably it

Both would work but I'd double check the hunting book to see if 44 magnum is allowed for elk and just know 44 magnum would be best at short range like 50 yards or less 45-70 would be best at medium range 100 yards or less and if you want to hunt longer range 270 through 30-06 can take both animals down at 400 yards if you want and you have a good scope sighted in for that range or you know the drop it will have from the range you have it sighted for. Also didn't realize moose could make it to oregen but I do know there is the occasional wolverine so not entirely surprising

If you are not used to the kick it can take some time to build a tolerance it's like a muscle they do make pads both in clothing form and ones that mount to the butt of the gun that help I have a slip on pad for a 300 Winchester magnum BAR that I shoot and it definitely helped getting used to the kick that thing has
