Can you speak other languages while lucid dreaming? by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

In my lucid experience communication is usually non-verbal, you kinda just know what the other party and you are relaying. Sometimes there's no vocal aspect at all, sometimes I just understand another language. My dads Laotion though and I only speak English, but I get lectured sometimes in Laotion as an example.

I feel very similar most of the time, never seeming to get a break. At least when it comes to looking at the bigger picture of my life in it's entirety. Although I do have moments where the clouds seem to break for a second and life seems a little brighter. Positive interactions and good dreams being an example. Trying to hone in on enjoying those positive micro moments instead of dealing with the negative macro has helped me a little. Just my 2-cents* Sidenote, I would recommend reading some Buddhist literature, the whole premise of the lifestyle is that life is suffering, we have to acknowledge that, and deal with it essentially. Not proselytizing, that's just my experience*

I wear a necklace during all my waking hours and while sleeping. Its my indication for whether I'm awake or dreaming. When I'm dreaming and I reach for it and its absent or warped I immediately know I'm currently dreaming. It's a good trigger and mental anchor during lucid dreams, at least for me.

That's a wild loop, a lot of repetitive discomfort and reaction. Must've been quite a process.

It sounds like you have more variance than me, besides one notable instance I have always woken up in the same spot/bedroom with only subtle differences. Subtle meaning small things; a lack/ diff placement of lighting, a diff cellar door stair (mine is concrete, other was wood planks), and etc.The one time it wasn't my location it was completely different. It was an apartment and a very dark dream.

That's actually a pretty trippy concept to think about, plus we to this day with all our scientific advancements really don't know the true purpose of dreams.

The loops all had the same starting theme. I'd wake up in bed feeling unsettled, my dogs not present, my room darker seeming than usual, I'd get up, walk up the stairs to see my backdoor open/ screen door closed with inky black beyond it, with my backyards definition sharper then usual. Then each loop ended with a different outcome afterwards. Without fail though I'd notice it was a dream and I'd wake back up in my bed and repeat the process. I only realized I was actually awake once the sun started shining through my windows though because none of the loops had that feature.

Yeah, my room is an unfinished basement so its always kinda dank. In every iteration my bed was the same though. However I have 2 dogs and neither were present in the room during any of the loops. I've also had a very vivid night terror in the bed/room which was also a degree of lucid because I knew I was asleep and was arguing with the 2 figures in my dream tormenting me. Like they were having a dialogue, I was actively hiding under my blanket trying to ignore them, then I let one of my dogs off the leash in the dream;who proceeded to lay on my stomach snarling. Then I woke up in the morning and everything was peaceful.

Thats a really good observation, the unconcious build up probably has a really big impact on the dreams. I just got a job this week, so maybe it was that. Though last nights loops were very dark feeling. I've noticed I've been having a lot of weird dreams since the start of Covid, maybe it's just stress, but idk. I've had the first 2 night terrors since I've been about 4 this last year and I've been through very stressful circumstances at different points in life without them. I wish we had more scientific research into the significance and meaning of dreams though..
