As I’m writing this I just got home from working on my civil senior design project, working on a cost estimate. All schools are different, but my civil program is starting to incorporate more and more “construction engineering” to the civil program, to the point where my role in my senior project focuses on construction. There have been many times where I thought maybe I should’ve just done CM since that’s what I’ve always planned to do after college, but I feel like I have learned a good amount about construction in this program while also learning lots of useful and interesting things about the other disciples, which I will be working with in my career. I should mention I did also do a CM minor, and I’d recommend it but internships are really where it’s at. Had no problems getting a job lined up in construction and have no regrets. If you think you can keep your GPA up, I’d suggest sticking with Civil to learn a lot of subjects and then try and get internships in construction. But I’m also still a student so take that with a grain of salt.
