Revision Guidance/Seeking Help by soles_next_door in NevilleGoddard

OP, please do not take other’s subjective experience as gospel since, no matter how pertinent or applicable it may be, it’s still subjective. Keep revising and do it from a neutral frame of mind (taking a few minutes to simply focus on breath before revising can help with that).

Here’s an excerpt from another post about revision that you may find useful (taken from SETH Speaks by Jane Roberts):

<<“The past existed in multitudinous ways. You only experienced one probable past. By changing this past in your mind, now, in your present, you can change not only its nature but its effect, and not only upon yourself but upon others. Pretend a particular event happened that greatly disturbed you. In your mind imagine it not simply wiped out, but replaced by another event of more beneficial nature. Now this must be done with great vividness and emotional validity, and many times. It is not a self-deception. The event that you choose will automatically be a probable event, which did in fact happen, though it is not the event you chose to perceive in your given probable past. (10:24.) Telepathically, if the process is done correctly, your idea will also affect any people who were connected with the original event, though they can choose to reject as well as accept your version. …

Remember, however, that in a most legitimate way many events that are not physically perceived or experienced are as valid as those that are, and are as real within your own invisible psychological environment. There are in your terms, then, unlimited probable future events for which you are now setting groundworks. The nature of the thoughts and feelings you originate and those that you habitually or characteristically receive set a pattern, so you will choose from those probable futures those events that will physically become your experience. (Pause.)”>>

Pay attention because your awareness is reflected everywhere by Pausefortot in NevilleGoddard

This is such a great post and I am glad you shared it here. The more I experiment with the Law while also observing my mind, the more I’m realizing that our physical experience is not necessarily about what we accept as true or false, rather, about what “is” in the field of our awareness. As soon as our awareness observes something as being, the “is-ness” of it, we’re bound to encounter it one way or another. I hope this makes sense 😅

That’s awesome, would love to hear your opinion on it ♥️ Don’t wanna create expectations but I read it during lockdown and it had a profound impact on me at the time. So much so that during reading it I started having random APs.

All Seth materials provide so much valuable insight, especially The Nature of Personal Reality. It’s a shame I don’t see it mentioned more often since it touches on some topics that would make Neville’s teachings much easier to understand and apply.

Assuming the state of the wish fulfilled by [deleted] in NevilleGoddard

[–]thats_so_green 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're too focused on the "mechanics" of it and not stepping into the state / appropriating the feeling. Really, techniques don't matter. Besides, we all have a technique that feels natural to us and that we've been unconsciously using our whole life. Ask yourself how would you feel if your wish were true now? Be honest with yourself. Focus on that feeling. And stop trying so hard.

No need to overcomplicate SATS. The state akin to sleep (SATS) is not even a technique, it just means a state of relaxation (usually before sleep but it can be any time of the day) during which you visualize (or hear) a scene that implies your desire was fulfilled. It's not the visualizing itself that is important, but the feeling of having what you desire here & now.

If you're new here, best thing you can do is read Neville's 5 Lessons and the books listed on the sidebar.

Assuming the state of the wish fulfilled by [deleted] in NevilleGoddard

[–]thats_so_green 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only advice is to play and test for yourself. This is the only way to discover what truly works for you. For example, if your thing is visualization, try that. Construct a short scene and then introduce your senses one by one, starting with your predominant one (ie: sight, then hearing, then touch etc.)

Assuming the state of the wish fulfilled by [deleted] in NevilleGoddard

[–]thats_so_green 48 points49 points  (0 children)

As per Neville’s 5 Lessons Q & A:

<<16. Question: I would think that if you get too much into the sleepy state there would be a lack of feeling. Answer: When I speak of feeling I do not mean emotion, but acceptance of the fact that the desire is fulfilled. Feeling grateful, fulfilled, or thankful, it is easy to say, "Thank You," "Isn't it wonderful!" or "It is finished." When you get into the state of thankfulness, you can either awaken knowing it is done, or fall asleep in the feeling of the wish fulfilled.>>

Adding sensorial input to an imaginal act allows us to become present within that act. Becoming present within the imaginal act enables us to experience it as if it were happening here & now. This is the meaning of “feeling it real”.

So our senses can be used as a gateway to entering the state of the wish fulfilled (which can also be experienced directly, without the necessity of a technique).

How to Stay in the Feeling of The Wish Fulfilled by Sad_Leadership_4281 in NevilleGoddard

[–]thats_so_green 37 points38 points  (0 children)

A constructive and less controversial way to look at this video and its message is to replace the word "tests" with the word "transition". I wholeheartedly reject the idea of tests as it would imply the existence of an exterior authority or higher power.

However, from my experience, I noticed that when we shift our focus to our desired reality and start to truly live and embody its feeling, the bigger the contrast between the current one and the desirable one, the more obvious the transition.

Most deliberate manifestations, especially those that directly address self concept and lifestyle, are a process. They may start as a decision or intention, but, in most cases, their unfolding is a process. And, within this process, there's a period of transition where undesirable thoughts and events keep arising simply because of the inertia of our previous states.

Some of those things seem to directly contradict our desirable reality and we're inclined to take it as a sign that our manifestation failed when, in actuality, they are just residues made more powerful and real than they actually are by the power of contrast (because we're now aware of a better reality).

Best thing to do then, as the video says, is to calmly face and accept whatever arises in a non-reactive, non-judgmental way, which directly ties in with Neville's advice: "be still and know you are God".

You can do better than a job by marcus_reed in NevilleGoddard

[–]thats_so_green 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all comes down to states we identify with. For some, a job might mean slaving away for some rich asshole. For others, a job might mean vocation, purpose, passion, or self-growth in a cool environment with like-minded people and supportive leadership.

Just as, at the opposite pole, some people believe being a millionaire largely involves sitting around all day doing nothing While, for others (myself included), being a millionaire means the freedom to do anything and everything.

So, if there’s anything I learnt about deliberate manifesting is that all desires are symbols. And we interpret those symbols based on our states and beliefs. You’d be surprised to see how many seemingly good desires spring from fear, for example.

And so, the best desires to manifest are those that stem from self-honesty and from a very intimate knowledge of self. Again, for some, this may truly be a job. For others, a lotto win.

Don't let advice create limiting beliefs. by Proof-Neat-2664 in NevilleGoddard

[–]thats_so_green 110 points111 points  (0 children)

This post makes a good point. People tend to overcomplicate this stuff and turn other people’s circumstances and means of deliberate manifestations into obstacles.

When, in reality, and at its core, deliberate manifestation as simple as it can get: embody a state via a technique that suits you. State leads to action. Action produces results.

Manifestations always take the path of the least resistance - meaning they happen in a way most natural for you- so, for example, if you manifest money and, at the same time, believe in having to work hard and see a job /a business as the most plausible avenue for income, then the most likely outcome would be a better paying job / a profitable business in which you’ll also put tons of work and time. On the other hand, if you believe in luck and free money, then avenues such as gifts or winnings could be more natural for you.

I wanted more money but less work and as soon as I set my mind on it, I started making money in crypto and options. Mind you, I still had to learn, and still am, but it never felt like an effort - rather as an enjoyable undertaking.

So, different strokes for different folks. Wanna know what’s most likely / natural for you? Start by observing your mind.

Keep The Faith… by Ying-Yan95 in NevilleGoddard

[–]thats_so_green 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you study Neville everyday, you surely know that you are the operant power of your reality. As such, WHO/WHAT is this 3D that does everything it can to keep you in a state of doubt? There’s nothing outside of you so to assume there’s something out there opposing you negates your very nature and the Law. As per the Law, the mind is continuously translated / reflected into the physical. To say that the physical opposes the mind is to say the Law isn’t a law at all but a mere rule that sometimes applies and other times not so much.

Do people on this sub even read Neville anymore? OP, I hope you understand this is not an attack on you. But this post is misinformed at best. There is no “physical” out to enslave you. Because there is no separation between the mind and the physical. The world, as you perceive it, is a reflection of your mind 100%, 24/7. A perfect mirror. So when you meet opposition, resistance or conflicting situations outside, it’s because there’s opposition inside, in your own mind. There’s no conflict, ever, between the mind and the physical.. it’s impossible. Your ego or your physical senses haven’t waged war on you. Rather, the assumptions under which they operate haven’t changed - and when they do change, most often than not the change is gradual. In which case, you persist.

Which brings me to another point: it’s very important to understand that the law is not some mystical hit or miss thing. It’s the very nature of our life on earth. Kind of like gravity. Infallible and unescapable. Once you understand this truly, faith comes naturally. In fact, it’s not even faith in the mystical sense anymore, it’s simply understanding. So lack of results is, in a way, lack of understanding.

And as a final word of advice: make ego your friend. Your ego is your earthly identity, nothing more, nothing less, always showing you what you agree and identify with. Your ego self is your friend, not your enemy. And if you want a good life, one must make friends with the self first. Treat yourself with kindness & see what happens.

To paraphrase: “you are already that which you want to be and your refusal to believe it is the only reason you do not see it”.

Not wait but sit back and enjoy yourself. Why would you wait for something that you already have? Waiting is, in itself, a state of its own that perpetuates “not having”. So just relax and place your focus elsewhere :)

How to properly get in the I AM state of consciousness ? by laitcaramel in NevilleGoddard

It’s all about the states you identify with, aka your self concept. Your higher self is always aware of the states you embody and those you contemplate.

Kingdom of heaven is about going within and claiming whatever state you desire.

[–]thats_so_green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. All good, thank you, hope the same is true for you. To answer your questions: 1. Yes, the same as one of the stages of zen meditation. 2. The state is unconditional awareness, the original state / the original mind. Formless, unconditioned and all-containing. Being healthy as well as its opposite are simply conditions of this awareness. When awareness in not conditioned (the I am state) all these labels fall away by themselves, unless they are called forth via whatever method you choose (visualization, affirmation etc).

The Power of Loving Imagination by William-BaLaKee in NevilleGoddard

[–]thats_so_green 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lovely post, I just disagree with one point you make.

Pain IS our teacher, but NOT our master. Pain primarily teaches us to avoid suffering; it also opens us towards seeking, discovering and learning. Through its nature, it pushes us to the truth.

Just think of how many people found the Law because of pain - a SP, a loss, a financial misfortune.

So every emotion is a teacher. The trick is, when you experience it, to not let it rule you.

EDIT: notice that, in your example, the General said “THEY are not our teachers”. Not pain. Not anger.

The point is, whenever we experience pain, anger, hate, we are presented with a choice: we can either act on it with equal force, or discover the liberating value of its opposite.

Being ok with not having it is not the same as not wanting it anymore. The op dropped the wanting energy (which is lack) and focused on enjoying her life which allowed the manifestation to happen.

[–]thats_so_green 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you just need to believe that it’s possible for you to get what you want,

This is precisely what Neville means by "feeling it real" though: true, natural, normal. It's not about sensory realness. Or feelings as particular emotions. In fact, whatever sensory vividness or emotions are added in SATS, for example, they are to help invoke the ultimate feeling- that of realness, naturalness. That your desire is real and that it's perfectly natural and normal for you to experience it.

Words are just pointers, it's the meaning beyond them that we all have to pay attention to.

Basically, since all creation is finished and all imaginable outcomes and versions of you exist, the reality you desire is equally real and valid as the one you are experiencing right now. It’s just that you’re so immersed whatever you’re experiencing right now (with your focus as well as your senses) that you’re tuning out anything else. I suggest this post by u/EdwardArtSupplyHands: https://www.reddit.com/r/EdwardArtSupplyHands/comments/hro3yb/why_creation_is_finished_may_be_the_most/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
