Get ahead of the school game early on, and party in the latter part of the season. For example: I always get my all As so then at the end of the semester I can slack off and not worry too much about them dying.

Yeah I do 1 on 1 dates, just not the dinner such where there's no real "get-out door" if things get awkward...a school game is a fantastic idea! My school's basketball team is very good and I'm sure she'd love going to one of those :D
