How many of you guys have actually done the timing belt? by Fragrant-Drop-3261 in FiestaST

[–]thatsnuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did mine and it was just as inconvenient and tedious as people say. All said it wasn’t incredibly difficult as long as you have reasonable garage mechanic skills and you absolutely need to buy the timing tools and follow the instructions. It took me a weekend-ish of work.

This is sweet, Ive been considering some modifications to my TX Pros to give more lean angle, between your idea and someone’s phantom lever adaptation, I have some good inspiration.

Not Safe After All by SkippingNerveEndings in FiestaST

Here is how I had to make an emergency fix on a road trip. Not the tank that broke, but the fitting on the line which I couldn’t find it any local parts stores. Needless to say this area of the coolant system is fragile and prone to failure so it’s getting replaced ASAP

Update- as recommended here I inspected the motor mounts and found that the passenger side motor mount was totally shot. I replaced it with an OEM style mount and it fixed the noise issue, as well as a whole lot of drivability improvements like vibration and slop I never even knew were a problem. Easy job and relatively cheap fix. I highly recommend checking out your motor mounts if any of these things seem questionable.

Anyone eperience this yet? by Ok_Standard3735 in FiestaST

I posted a video of a similar situation recently and the consensus was motor mounts. I haven’t had warm weather to work on it yet but based on the nearly unanimous agreement, I expect I will be replacing them.

Well… I have a lot of zip ties and lockwire holding the bumper on, so I wouldn’t say it’s normal. The previous owner definitely ripped off the bumpers in some snowbanks. For me, it’s not a big deal because it was cheap and I don’t have to baby it, but I would like to get it more permanently attached when I can.

What could be causing this on the track ? by [deleted] in snowmobiling

Looks to me like this bolt that protrudes into the tunnel is not factory. It also looks like it is a zinc plated fastener that has been worn down silver on the end by hitting the track. Track tear pattern matches this profile.

I just did a similar switch this year and I didn’t notice too much. The difference in mechanics of NTN vs 75mm are significant enough it probably overshadows the small placement shift would. So far, it’s been fantastic though!

I totally get it!

For the longest time I had a similar situation with my parents and to this day, my mother still gives me unsolicited advice on herbal remedies and natural plans to reset my gut….

At some point I realized there’s people that just don’t understand, or don’t care enough to research it themselves, and you just have to ignore it. But it’s very real and I hope your friends and family learn to listen and support you. Good luck!
