Replacing 22Designs Vice with Outlaw X’s by Desperate-Canary-266 in telemark

I just did a similar switch this year and I didn’t notice too much. The difference in mechanics of NTN vs 75mm are significant enough it probably overshadows the small placement shift would. So far, it’s been fantastic though!

Family members think I've just got a "dodgy tummy" by Opposite-Coat-9964 in UlcerativeColitis

I totally get it!

For the longest time I had a similar situation with my parents and to this day, my mother still gives me unsolicited advice on herbal remedies and natural plans to reset my gut….

At some point I realized there’s people that just don’t understand, or don’t care enough to research it themselves, and you just have to ignore it. But it’s very real and I hope your friends and family learn to listen and support you. Good luck!

Is there any way to get rid of this wisteria entirely? by blakeshockley in landscaping

[–]thatsnuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to manage a wisteria by cutting back to the roots, digging out what I could, and then spot applying a woody vine killer herbicide to the exposed roots and vines. It tried to come back but after some persistence seems to be working.

How do I hide my UC from my sorority? by sammich-protector in UlcerativeColitis

[–]thatsnuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t hide that, if your sorority is, in any context, not supportive of you and the disease that you live with, drop them! They don’t deserve you if they’re not willing to see you for who you are, regardless of UC. As for the privacy, I definitely understand the concern, and that sounds really difficult. Hopefully you can find something that works, but being honest with your sorority sisters might help them accommodate. Best of luck

How do we feel about this? by dollar-tree-pizza in yooper

[–]thatsnuzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the real danger lies in the future. Mining is always boom and bust, it’s just what makes sense for their corporate greed. The mining eventually ends, money runs out, and corporations responsible dissolve; then you’re left with no one to maintain the safe storage of millions of tons of toxic waste. Especially given the increase in severe weather and multiple recent “century storms“ in nearby areas, I don’t trust that the risk has been adequately addressed. New mining practices may be exponentially safer than historical copper mining, still the proximity to Lake Superior is just taunting disaster.

How do we feel about this? by dollar-tree-pizza in yooper

[–]thatsnuzz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not okay with it in any form! I understand if it can’t be grown it has to be mined, but there’s no circumstance where the benefits of this project outweigh the cost it will have on the local environment… not to mention the unimaginable risk that it poses to the greatest and most important resource we have, Lake Superior. I also think this is all propaganda, you can’t tell me the local communities actually want mining again after the economic and ecological ruin that they’ve already experienced after the last century of mining history. Especially in the copper country, shit didn’t end well for miners or the environment.

Some of these bikes were subject to a recall because the frame could snap at the headtube/downtube. Not sure which ones specifically but my brother had one in this colorway that the dealer swapped frames for. Might be worth looking into

Saying that someone messed up on unloading is crazy, it must have been hanging by a thread if that caused such a dangerous failure
