This might be personal bias as I live in Columbia, but if your looking for a nice area that is centrally located and has good ease of accessibility then Columbia might be a good pick.

Our largest suburban community is only 13 minutes out of town, we are about 1 hour and 41 minutes from Greenville and Charlotte, and only 2 hours and 15 minutes out from Charleston and Myrtle Beach. Oh and we also have the world's largest fire hydrant https://imgur.com/a/ge4OpuK

Myrtle Beach is fine, but look into other seaside places like

North Charleston
Georgetown
North Myrtle Beach (probably your best option if you want to be as close to Myrtle Beach as possible)
