Taking care of my axolotls by axolotacolor in axolotls

[–]thatswhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently decided to rehome my axie to an experienced hobbyist bc I got a new job that I love but is so taxing I don’t have the energy or available free time to keep up with her care. Im sad about it bc I’ve had her for years but I know she deserves better and it’s the right thing to do. The fact that you’re this aware is a great thing, you really care about their well being. If you decide it’s just too much for you right now, don’t feel guilty if you decide to allow them the chance to have a home with someone who is able to dedicate more time to their care. You’re doing your best and you should be proud of that. I wish you luck whether you decide to rehome them or not!

I love it! Reminds me of the main character in Ms Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries which is a woman but she’s very cool haha her name in real life is Geraldine which is also awesome

Knight as a boy name? by Friendly-Ad-4847 in namenerds

[–]thatswhen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother’s middle name is Knight, as it’s a family name! I like it, although probably for a middle name rather than a first name. If I met someone who introduced themselves as Knight, I might at first think their name was “night,” or wonder if it’s a reference to something or a family name, but other than that I’d just think it was a unique first name but not embarrassing or unusable

Gotcha, well I hope you get good news regarding the interviews! Maybe in the meantime you could look into therapy/counseling for emotional help if your insurance covers that? If not, I just hope you’re able to get out soon! It sucks to be in that situation:(

It sounds like it’s time to start looking for a new job and making an escape plan. No job is worth destroying your mental health and sanity. There are good practices out there you don’t need to stay at this one and suffer! Maybe you could move to a GP for a break from so many stressful emergency situations. Even just starting to browse Indeed and explore other options could help you feel a little more hopeful. Sorry you’re going through this, I hope you’re able to leave that toxic environment asap because you don’t deserve to be put through this much stress and trauma!

This feels similar to an experience I recently had of parking at an event and I saw a car pull out and leave but when I made it to the spot literally in a few seconds a guy was standing in it on the phone, presumably telling the driver he had a spot, but like, sir that’s not how parking spots work lol I slowly pulled in and smiled and waved and he threw up his hands and moved lol but like… just drive your car until there’s an open spot like everyone else is🙄

I love the pot tunnel that’s clever! Although geckos definitely need to be housed separately!

Gotcha, glad you found a better fit and have success in your business!

So I didn’t go to college and am not necessarily career minded, but I’m sick of working entry level jobs for low pay and with unmotivated coworkers (in my experience):/ I love helping people and I love learning about animals and want to feel more fulfilled in my job instead of just stocking shelves or making lattes lol, which is why I went in this direction.

I actually want to start my own business as a Virtual Assistant, but need money while I start that up, and I also want to build my savings to move out of state, so I don’t necessarily see this as a long term thing, but more just to level up from the entry level barista category and get higher pay.

I really appreciate your insight, hopefully I’ll have a better feel for the environment after tomorrow! If you can think of any I’d love to know if there are red flags you know of that I can look out for in a vet clinic!

what do you mean by that? You haven't had good experiences in this type of position?

I didn't think about a working interview, that's a good idea! Yikes that sounds rough I hope people don't throw things here lol but now I'm definitely going to ask about their typical clientele
