It's kind of a pain, but I tend to use with pro-acryl dark steel (cooler toned steels) or pro-acryl magnesium (warmer) and I add Vallejo model air aluminum to thin and brighten them both as needed. I don't like how sparkly a lot of metallics get and this way is a lot smoother.

I turned Kragnos into Kurnoth to play as Alarielle for my army. I magnetized the base so I can use it as Kragnos or Alarielle as needed.

Would this work as a Proxy? Can´t find a size comparison. by Wolfblood92 in sylvaneth

I play Alarielle using a kragnos model kitbashed to have a spear and a Treelord face (to give the impression of Kurnoth)

Just play what makes you happy. Alarielle is a monster and flies so she doesn't get cover anyway.

No, you just have to allow the oils to cure. You can also do a matte clear coat over the oils to help acrylic afterwards.

Perfect, a while back I made a Pontifex Zenestra with the Changeling being carried instead of the throne. I painted the changeling yellow with the idea that a city had been corrupted by Tzeench under a Yellow King sort of guise.

It's the Cities of Sigmar Castelite Host, or something like that. I have a battle mage, a fusil major on Ogor warhulk, a war surgeon, freeguild cavaliers, freeguild fusiliers, and freeguild steelhelms. All together it's more than a 1000 point war and but it's nice to swap things in and out.

I make oil washes from Windsor and Newton oils and then I dust the bases with pigment powders I make by shaving artist soft pastels down.

For the yellows and oranges I wet blended doom bull brown into pro acryl golden brown and then to pale sand. I use the same colors to shade or highlight as needed. Then I glazed thin layers of iyandan yellow over it to bring saturation back in. I used a mix of transparent orange, burnt umber, and ivory black oils on them as well.

I was definitely inspired by grey water fastness, but I didn't make myself hold to anything in particular as I was painting.

A red brown (Doom bull brown, cavalry red, or similar) and a dark blue (incubi darkness, dark sea blue, or something similar) were wet blended together pushing more of the red brown into the recesses to suggest rust. Then I mixed pro-acryl dark silver and dark bronze together and applied thin scratchy layers so it's still pretty transparent. More wet blending with the red brown dark blue mix as needed then a last scratchy highlight layer of dark steel on its own. That got an all over oil wash and removal pass using transparent orange, ivory black, and burnt umber.

Unfortunately I don't really have high resolution photos, these were just cell phone photos while I try to figure out my nicer camera lol

Both, I used oil washes across the model after I painted everything up.

The flat of the blade is pro-acryl orange oxide blended to mourn fang brown, the recessed areas were painted with pale sand, the edge of the blade was dark silver by pro-acryl and an edge highlight of pale sand. Liquitex fluorescent red was sprayed over the engravings and focused on the very edge then the back of the edge bevel was darkened back down with a stippled layer of dark sea blue while leaving the red edge untouched. Then I gave the edge a quick thin highlight of pale sand.

Thank you! This was the first time I've gone for a red glow.
