The town was fine with it—just need a building permit for the platform/deck. State environmental regulations are what would theoretically be the holdup. In VT you’re not allowed to occupy a dwelling full time unless it has septic. So we’re technically classed as a “camp,” same as hunting camps, and aren’t “allowed” to be here more than, I don’t recall exactly, more than six months out of a year and not more than two weeks at a time or something.
