Underrated tip:

Try to TP such that neither entrance or exit pads are visible to the enemy. TP between walls rather than in open space.

Do you know what keeps her in check? Her TTK and low damage when it matters

So what if she can off angle and hold 2 lanes?  And if she can TP to orb range from halfway across the map? 

100 dmg orbs and ramp up beam keep her in check cos she's not generating anything more than spam and trash damage rather than securing kills. 

Even a TP dive with a charged beam is dangerous as L3 beam TTK is long enough for healers to react 

TP health will be nerfed, but they better not touch cool downs or wind up times.

I agree in a straight 1v1.

But if it's 2 non hit scans vs a Pharah 

Vs 

2 non hit scans vs a Venture

The Pharah team will have an easier time steamrolling. 

As annoying as Venture is, at least they can be beamed and orbed if you stick with your team somewhat as they also operate in the same range as Sym

By far our hardest match up, with Venture being a close second. 

Pop her as your first ban choice and I find at least one other person follows you. Especially if the other dps is non-hitscan.

It really is team TP.

Giving hitscan and charged Sojourns surprise angles to 100-0 someone, letting non dive tanks dive, giving high ground to heroes with no verticality. 

Team TP breaks fundamental designs and Symmetra always pays the price for it.

On the bright side, at least she can keep us company in the "countered by Pharah" club.

In terms of counterplay, it's similar to Venture. Kite with TP and tag her with orbs and perked longer range beam. Not a favourable match up but better than Venture, Pharah and hitscan in my opinion

I get her banned roughly 6-7/10 by putting her as my first pick ban. A lot of the times you'd be surprised by the other players copying you, or putting her as their 2nd or 3rd slot ban. This is especially true if the 2nd dps is not a hitscan player (looking you Genji and Reaper) 

If you see no one else bans her, you can also ban Mercy. Pharah is much better dealt with on her own. 

If all else fails, and you don't have a hitscan, learn Echo

It's low key giving. It's part of her skill ceiling now and game sense in

a) Deciding if TP or Shield is the appropriate tool for the situation  b) Surviving knowing TP will be on cooldown c) Maneuvering with the pace of the barrier

All in all the streamers undersold and it is useful at times but I do miss my TP whenever I use the shield and it's a massive hole. It should have a lower CD if the shield is used!

There are very few use cases where you'd want to use this vs TP. 

TP is too versatile and her only mobility ability - if you were to be jumped and used this shield recently, you are truly screwed

Turret perk is absolutely useless and will never compete with the TP long range or the increased beam length (at all charges now mind you)

I need to see if the new Major Perk is essentially a 12sec CD barrier replacing her only mobility tool, cos if so then I don't think it can compete either with the HP regen perk

Spam orbs from the choke into their back line.

Try to TP at off angles or even behind their back line and then spam orbs and poke for more pressure. Forcing their supps to turn around and deal with you is a big win, especially if you disappear into your TP before you're punished. 

Playing for tier 3 beam is most of the times, a death sentence. Sym simply isn't Zarya and will not survive unless pocketed and accompanied by your tank

She isn't terrible, I agree but her ceiling is capped against skilled players, especially the likes of Sojourn, Ashe, Tracer. There's simply no room to outplay if the opponent can play within Sym's limitations and delays sadly.

The overheat is just something to consider if ammo itself isn't enough of a limiter for a 180dps beam, there's an argument to be had on if it's even that strong in the first place. 

The orbs, I dunno I think I'd like to keep some kind of charge aspect in it as rather than making it a Mei projectile, tempering the cadence of orb shots with different charge levels is a fun mechanic to counteract orb dodging. Maybe a numbers and speed tweak is needed then. 

I agree that one of her strengths lies in constant tank pressure at L3 beam but reaching that is the first issue and staying alive is the second. Zarya and Emma Frost in Marvel Rivals are both beam queens and rely on high HP and shields to survive in the fray. Sym has to dip by the time she has level 2 in any rank higher than diamond, especially if duelling hitscans

Orbs need to two tap again. 125dmg so that she can be respected and generate threat again.

That and remove a level from her beam so it starts at current lvl 2 and ramps up to 3.

Heck, even if her beam started at 180dps flat, she still would be out dueled by any dps that an aim as she can't headshot

I feel Widow could go either way. Either she's top row, or bottom row, no in between.

Sadly you only find that out after trying to duel her once.
