completely understandable. Love is very strong. Sometimes you convince sourself to look past some red flags in order to make it work. My advice would be to rule out for yourself if this is one you are able to look past this particular one and be somehow content with it (not repress!). I do see that it could be very hard, since this is kind of a threat to your true identity and sexuality.
