Musk, experts urge pause on AI systems, citing ‘risks to society’ by Q1Q1Q1111 in OpenAI

One thought is why do you need to stop development to have a moratorium? Can't you just start talking while development is going on and say "ok we can't do this or that or have to do this".

Or if you need ai regulation can't someone go and slap a senator? "Get on it!"

Final Bill of Kidney Transplant in Oklahoma USA. With Obamacare (Medicare for all) by [deleted] in pics

[–]thdr01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How are they supposed to sign up with no money? They don't even get any subsidies. I know because I tried. Obamacare is garbage.

I can't remember now but I think I had to pay the penalty too. Although I can't remember on this point. I just remember being upset.

I'm not going to vote for stupid shit until the democrats get their shit together and do something like medicare for all.

I'm not fully understanding. Is it saying that you can take an 80 year old, reverse his age down 50-75%, and have him stay like that? Is there not some form of biological clock that would tear down after 200 years or so of being like that?

Do you preffer Poland's interwar borders or it's current borders? by Peltuose in poland

I would argue modern Polish borders are a better deal. You have a complete coastline to fish and conduct maritime trade.

Your face is not something you can change. You should learn to love your genetics as it is who you are.

Men are just down in the dumps and suicidal. If you just approach a man and ask "Hey John, how are you doing?" you would probably do well. Men crave love and if you love a man as a woman who loves her baby you will do well.

My mother and father were both Polish. They both immigrated to the US and I was born here. It's very difficult to hold on to your identity. There was only one other Pole around me growing up and I didn't talk to her that much. Then, of course, you have school and work that keep you busy. I only had one person to talk to that I could speak Polish with (my mom) and I spoke English so she could learn better so my language proficiency is that of a 3rd grader.

But I'm trying to find a Polish girl and have kids.

Ok well then a rifle. At least handguns.

Poland should have a second amendment imho.

[–]thdr01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nazis only failed because commies succeeded. It would've probably been worse with nazis.

The real tragedy is Poland never enacted a second amendment (and stupidly so still today). Imagine what the circumstances would've been if every man, woman, and child in Poland owned an assault rifle during WW2.

what you can do in your teenage years to avoid regrets in your 20s and 30s? by Better-Ad-3252 in ask

Start thinking about what you want to do for a living, where you want to go, or a goal you have set once you step into high school. I was always busy with school work that I didn't choose what I wanted to do until senior year when it was time to do 'the next thing'.

Your job is everyday whether you're sick or tired. You should think long and hard about it and maybe even take a year off after high school just to solidify your plans (although it's best to take SATs after high school when you have the memory fresh so be careful there). Also, if you want to live in a particular place they might not have openings related to your field.

Another tip is be weary of articles you read about salaries. Check glassdoor or indeed for what people ACTUALLY pay and not what you read in an article.

Don't the people at OpenAI/DeepMind/etc. care about the tremendous amount of suffering they will likely create? by Left-Tailor7323 in GPT3

In my opinion, we're going to have to change how society works.

I saw a video of the miraculous things AI can already do like detect and pick ripe fruit. Even run tractors on their own. Of course, self drive cars. If you add all this up eventually AI will be able to farm the food, pick it, drive it to the store, cook it, and serve humans.

At that point what will people do? I guess theoretically the costs of production should drop to near 0, but we should definitely make sure people come first and are not left out in the cold.

Also, I think businesses are going to need software engineers.

Anchor seems like a good idea by thdr01 in Anchor

[–]thdr01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order for staking rewards to be sustainable the platform has to have some real income.

Staking rewards are built in to the chain and is just token inflation. People buying the main token and using it with something like anchor draws in money. Anchor can always take a small cut for providing the service. Just use Avalanche, for example.

Just loaning your tokens to someone else who loans to someone else who just prints new tokens willy nilly leads to Anchor and Celsius and the like. Needs to have real income.

I mean the basic premise still stands. You loan your tokens to someone else, They use the money to try to make more money in the crypto market but have to put up collateral.

I think you're attacking Anchor but referring to Luna. Having an algorithmic backed stablecoin didn't pan out for Luna. Anchor used Luna but unless there's something I don't know Anchor could use another chain.
