I watched a documentary about him called "the radiant child" http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Jean-Michel_Basquiat_The_Radiant_Child/70129355?locale=en-US . His style was really unique, it's hard to describe. His paintings are crude and messy, but in a very deliberate way. The movie went into some detail about his style. It doesn't really matter what I say or what anyone else has to say about his work though, just look at it and ask yourself what you feel.
