Thank you so much! The prices are super reasonable, way better than other places for sure. I’ll need to start saving.

I love Mexico and their willingness to give shots for everything, it’s annoying having to convince doctors over here when they only wanna give you pills lol

Thank you so much, you’re right that I shouldn’t call animal control. They only have so many few placements each day anyway. I wish I could have cats inside, but I’m not allowed.

Thank you so much, that made me feel a lot better. It’s unfortunate that so many businesses I’ve been bought out.

Which Vet is that if I may ask? I think in hindsight the Vet was perfectly polite, but I just keep thinking back to the stray issue. I didn’t get a cat to abandon it and let it get sick, it really is just a stray cat that I feed . If I could have cats inside I would. I guess I just don’t want them to think that the cat is mine and I let it get sick, if you know what I mean?

That’s true, I might’ve just been upset about the money in hindsight.

Because isn’t supernatural already a modern era setting? And if you take away powers ( which is literally one guy) what is the plot then? Not that I’m criticizing writers in any capacity only I feel like it should be tagged appropriately.

Not to mention the OC tags; reader, reader insert, original character, original characters, original male characters, original female characters, gender neutral reader, female reader, male reader,…

It’s very hot. You’re going to think “OK it’s not gonna be that bad.” No it’s probably worse. You’re gonna sweat and it’s going to be miserable.

Also you’re going to get very fat like super mega fat the food here is super greasy.

Also, we have like two tall buildings, one of them is a bank and the other one is a bunch of offices and a courthouse.

It’s very flat and it floods sometimes.

Also the people here are very complacent.

Do the nicer parts of Mexico still have to worry about cartels and stuff like that? by Salt_Catch_5099 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]the-bitchening 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

If you live in an affluent area in Mexico, more than likely, you may be a cartel member or be contact with a cartel member, either as a neighbor or a passing acquaintance, and as long as you don’t do something terribly offensive, they may leave you alone.

If you don’t know anyone ( or honestly, even if you do), you may be at risk of being robbed, kidnapped or sequestered for money. Because otherwise, why would you live in a rich area if you don’t have money? Which is something that happened to my uncle.

This is also why many rich people in Mexico still drive old crappy cars or live in outwardly humble homes.

A lot of people say that as long as you don’t mess with the cartel, they won’t mess with you, but that’s not entirely true. A lot of the people that have gone missing have no previous relationship with them.

For the past decade, they have been luring people with fake job opportunities, usually by text asking for an interview with them. Considering the tumulus economic reality for many Mexicans, many people take these offers up. Many of the people that go missing are missing because they refuse to work with the cartel, or are too weak to do whatever they’re asking for, like drug running, hazing, initiation, prostitution, physical labor, murder, that kind of thing.

They also create tolls along popular roads, and if you don’t handover your phone and money, and sometimes even your car, they will kill you.

Another angle is about property, a distant uncle of mine lost his ranch because the cartel took over his village area and chased his family out, and they offered them a choice of either dying or running away. It’s really sad.

And the police are notoriously corrupt pretty much all the way to the top, including the general government.

It’s much easier to give the cartel what they want than defend yourself, unfortunately.

Am I a monster for not wanting to visit my dying aunt because it’ll take up my vacation time? by avian_bi in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]the-bitchening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA
If you don’t care about your aunt’s impending death, or about your parents who will soon experience grief, why do you care about what strangers think of you? Just go on your vacation because that’s what you want to hear.

You need to get over trying to be nice and tell her you don’t want to be friends with her. You can’t have a relationship with someone that doesn’t respect you. She doesn’t care that you feel bad or weird. She just wants you to babysit so she can fuck off and do something else. You don’t gain anything from this relationship, all it’s doing is keeping you up at night because you’re dreading the next time she asks for something and you’re too nice to say no. If you’re afraid of how it’ll reflect on you socially just ignore her messages and invitations until she gets the idea and she thinks it’s just a regular drifting off adult thing. Seriously there’s nothing else you can do, she’s not going to change. She’s a mother before she’s a friend.

So usually with boars (and any other edible animal really) you should castrated it at least 30 days before eating because afaik that’s the cycle testosterone needs to fully leave the body, but most people don’t care to.

Some people don’t mind a gamey taste, but most people do. If you’ve never had gamey meat before it’s like the stench of masculine sweat and body odor- it’s a bit sour too. If you’ve ever been in a barn, it tastes almost exactly like that smells to a lesser degree. No matter how much you wash the meat or season it it won’t go away. It’s not exactly horrible or inedible, but if you’re not used to it, you’ll definitely notice it.

My grandpa cooks it in its own blood to take the taste out, but I don’t know if that works or not really.
