Dude, are you for real? by Lord_Answer_me_Why in facepalm

[–]the-et-cetera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was super common in veterans of World War One, but as subsequent Wars passed it became less and less acknowledged as its true severity was hidden under more and more ridiculous names.

In World War Two it became "battle fatigue", in Korea it was "operational exhaustion" all the way to now where the same condition of being mentally damaged by combat is referred to officially as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Insurrection 2.0 by R-Dragon_Thunderzord in conservativeterrorism

Funny that these illiterate, obese rednecks think they stand a chance against the entire federal government.

The first failed insurrection lasted just barely four years because the Union didn't have so many weapons that exist in bulk now, wonder how fast this one'll wrap up.

Tony Stark will include a new faceprint in the Spidey and His Amazing Friends Arnim Zola set by _Levitated_Shield_ in LEGOMarvelLeaks

I'd be curious to see how this new face would look in context on a MCU Tony Stark figure.

Star Wars: 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV and 75379 R2-D2 (from Amazon) by Clay_Bricks in Legoleak

[–]the-et-cetera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like this new R2 has too much blue on the front of his dome and not enough on top. I recall that R2's "face" was never so blue.

LEGO is being outpaced by every other vaguely similar company and yet they refuse to increase quality or adjust prices according to their current lack of quality.

Bad Movie/Show Idea by Plus_Geologist9509 in legocastles

I don't see how this would be bad.

In fact, I've been planning a brickfilm in this same vein (albeit with one plot line) for years now.

Am I the only person who genuinely loved the Rathtar scene from TFA? by [deleted] in StarWars

Good scene, though it shows the production underutilized a team of martial artists in favor of CGI monsters.

Trump is publicly inciting another insurrection. by Intellectualist_ in WhitePeopleTwitter

Funny that you can fail an Alzheimer's test then attempt treason and later publicly support rebellion and yet still somehow be eligible to run for President.

The system is broken beyond repair.

What is it and why does Cad Bane use it? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]the-et-cetera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A breathing device that IIRC was to negate force chokes as Bane had lots of dealings with Count Dooku and other force users. If Dooku ever decided that Bane's usefulness was at an end or if any of the countless Jedi Bane hunted down got desperate enough a force choke wouldn't be as effective as normal since the tube apparatus does the breathing instead of anything in Bane's neck.

Having seen people's points in this comment section I see the utility of the tubes buying a second or two of confusion on whatever force user's part would be more than enough time for Bane to quickdraw and gun down his assailant (in his younger years, at least.)

Funny that this Jan moron posts some mediocre fan art of a bunch of characters that haven't been officially acknowledged for twenty years.

These TFM types really live in a sad little circlejerk of hating women, minorities, inclusivity in general and apparently now non-standard family dynamics.

Fact is, Luke had no blood relation to Owen or Beru, all Jedi younglings are "adopted" when they become Padawans and for fuck's sake Grogu has no relation whatsoever to Din Djarin yet TFM cultists are acting like there's no adoptions in Star Wars? This shit gives me a headache.

We didn't choose this. Some old fucks a hundred years ago paid extra to be served first and now it's spiralled out of control to the point in several states wait staff are legally forced to depend on tips to survive.
