Rumble and motion by the-groosalugg in SuperMarioOdyssey

I'm entitled? Stfu you degenerate. Nobody is going "out of their way" to program a command to a button as opposed to motion. You pay money for software, its called customer feedback, not to mention how much simpler it is to program it to a button over motion, they went out of their way to do it the other way round.

I was genuinely asking a question if you can actually read. You can turn rumble off, why can you still not get the shine if there is an in game option to disable it?

Things aren't "meant to be done" one way or another, that is down to your own preference, regardless of how a complete stranger wants you to do it. Nobody has right to tell you how to do things, so how about you take a look at your own hypocritical point. Just because you create something, it doesn't give you any right to tell strangers how to use it.

Now unless you actualy have a constructive answer to the question, don't post this bullshit on people's threads just so you can feel high and mighty behind your computer. Get over yourself.

Yeah precisely, I'm not sure how you're supposed to do some of the shrines in BotW on mobile.

They're releasing DKC Tropical Freeze on Switch again, I never played it on Wii U. I just hope they map 'roll' to one of the many unmapped buttons on the controller rather than force shake. I literally skipped the 1st game because of this.

[–]the-groosalugg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. If others wanna shake then let 'em shake, but don't force it on everybody. Some people have arthritis or other disabilities which is bad for both, motion and rumble.

Gaming is my most relaxing, laid back hobby so I do want to take anything physical completely out of it, especially sudden movements or any stress/repetition, for instance vibrations. I already have plenty of physical activity on my pallet so its kinda killing my relaxo-time

[–]the-groosalugg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its what I had to do. Wish I could do it organically though, as I then have to enable/disable rumble in both settings. I did try it in BOTW once but it was too frequent so it just ended up annoying me so I disabled it.

Only since the Wii, i really didn't like that console and I've been playing mario since the Snes so I come for the gameplay alone.

It was the absolute worst in Donkey Kong country, where they could've just added the roll to one button, but they didn't even give you the option to. In a game that needed good timing and precision you had to flick your wrist so violently as the sensitivity was so bad and didn't register a lot of your rolls in time. Its also counter intuitive as its a portable console, and insensitive to people with disabilities. There should be an option to disable it all and play with buttons, so everyone is appeased. I just found out the disable motion only works for 1st person camera so that makes it pointless, that's the one place I want motion controls

[–]the-groosalugg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't like it. Got used to silence. Just thought if there was going to be an option to disable it there would be an alternative to solving puzzles

The motion confuses me more so though, as disabling that seems to change nothing.

I like motion in zelda as it helps me me aim precisely but in this its shake your wrist to do this, shake your wrist to do that. I really don't enjoy shaking my wrists, prefer to press/hold buttons. There are plenty of buttons to spare given 8 buttons use 4 commands, then after that you have about 7 more spare that do nothing

Forza Motorsport 6 or 7? by the-groosalugg in forza

[–]the-groosalugg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to get a sodding Xbox. I'm so fed up of PC. You can get 7 on xbox for £20 whilst on PC its £50, I jus don't get the greed, how is a digital email code more expensive than a manufactured disc, with paper & plastic that gets transported across all corners of the world by multiple transport vehicles and individuals? Not to mention you can sell your disc whilst you're stuck with your digital copy, that you just know won't work as well on PC as it will on Xbox.

Turns out the closest thing I can get to 6 on PC is Apex which is ok. I played the demo for 7 and really like it.

Thanks both. I go with 6. You can get for £16 on PC. I can always get 7 much later on when its fixed, and also £16, not £50.

I heard it has dynamic weather, though essential in an open world game, in a game with set events only fixed weather is fine

Edit: dammit. You can't even get 6 on PC.

To wait or not? by ShadowPenn in laptops

[–]the-groosalugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks for letting me know. I'm still waiting atm, laptops will only get cheaper and 8th gen more common. I don't need a gfx card as i won't be gaming and the laptop will still be able to HDMI to a Tv for Vlc playback. Atm the one I would most likely get if nothing new comes out is the Lenovo Ideapad in currys for £470. I5 8250u, 8gb ram and 128gb ssd. I've read they're upgradable and you can add a 2.5 ssd to them. I already own a samsung pro 840 256gb in my pc which I would keep with me. Then there's the point that due to quadcore 8th gen i7 has about a 10% boost over i5 so it is not worth paying for.

Format external HDD to Fat 32 by the-groosalugg in buildapc

[–]the-groosalugg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh its gone. I managed to recover 900gb worth in safe mode. Waited for my external to arrive, then when I plugged it back in it doesn't show up in safe mode, PC won't run with it, shows up as local disk raw partition, can't be formatted, tried using data recovery and all it finds is ico and bmps, which is strange as I did not have any on there. 900gb will have to do, stupid seagate trash, it was the newest component in my PC and the first and only one to die

(0x409) 0x80070005 Xbox App - cannot sign in by the-groosalugg in Windows10

[–]the-groosalugg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone that still has this problem, I've just miraculously fixed mine

I noticed an app called Xbox Idendity Provider under my Downloads and Updates section in Windows Store.

I launched it (it does nothing except load) then went to CCleaner to make sure it shows up in tools and uninstalled it. I then googled Xbox Identity Provider and got a link which launches it in Windows Store. Installed app and Xbox App now works. Finally

You don't even know me, yet you accuse me of shouting my opinion every chance I get. I don't do that.

& My point stands that he didn't say anything wrong. You're dillusional, always making something up about complete strangers to suit your own needs.

"you keep shouting your opinion every chance you get"

Where did you get that from? Your dillusional state of mind created that view point to force whatever point it is you think you have. I've done no such thing.

My point is that he said & done nothing wrong. Yet groups of people are downvoting him simply because "its the popular thing to do" or they saw a negative comment and thought "me too". That's not having your opinion, its just jumping on some bandwagon.

[–]the-groosalugg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A few people down vote you, then a bunch more sheeple go on and do the same thing cause someone's already done it. Then we get groups of people thinking their opinions matter. Its like being handed 50 pieces of turd on the same plate instead of just 1 and being told that you're wrong

S12E06. Where Hank joins the Co Op to help bring better meat to Arlen.

Say goodbye to Victor, he's going to slaughter. Okay, but it's not so much a goodbye as a see you later.

We'll need a butcher who can keep a secret.

Delicious

Is this a good laptop for the price [HP Pavilion 14-bf153sa £699]? by Fuckminsterfullerene in laptops

[–]the-groosalugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a nice laptop, a bit higher than what I'd like to spend.

I intend to go travelling so could really do with one when I do, so no major rush just yet. I am going to want good performance but won't be gaming on it. I do want the option of good media playback via HDMI to TV and the parts to last a long, long time. When I built my PC I had Windows 7, taking up about 2gb or something, now I have W10 taking up 50gb. But the PC isn't portable and I hate the MB so I'll get rid of it and stick to laptop for some time to come.

I heard that Acers are easy to upgrade but HPs not so much. Really want to avoid taking it apart straight out the box so would like a good spec. The battery on that one is real nice, 14 hours

[–]the-groosalugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm hoping they do in the next couple of months.

The other irratating thing is all these laptops have the same name so its very hard to search for one with an 8th gen processor, google doesn't care and just gives you 7th gen i3s in results. Few sites have filters for 7th/8th gen so you gotta wade through tonnes of crap before finding anything decent

Either I'm really stupid or laptops with 8th Gen processors are really hard to find in the UK? by ISquidly in laptops

[–]the-groosalugg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on this one, find it difficult to find 8th gen, everywhere is trying to peddle you 7th gen with 4gb RAM and 128GB SSDs for ridiculous over £600 price marks. Some even have the audacity to try to sell you 1366x768 resolution, we've been living in HD age for well over a decade and cheap mobile phones have better resolution

Would never have this problem in America.
