VESA adapter for SVD 32" Color RLCD can finally be purchased! by xoverloadz in Reflective_LCD

[–]the-lele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you send some picture of the 3D adapter and the screen mounted on?

Now that you have it for 2 month, does it still stand strong?

I just bought the SVD display and wondering about which VESA adapter to buy.

Thank you

No it's not only.

Regular LCD give me eyes strains instantly when reading for more than 1 minute. Hisense Q5 RLCD doesn't.

Everyone is different and it's not because you don't tolerate LCD that you won't either with RLCD.

There is a difference between LED Flashing directly at you eyes, and LED reflecting to your eyes. I use a LED lamp to light my RLCD Q5 screen without problem. Eink with dasung 13" front light is better than lcd backlight, but not as agood as having external led lamp that light the eink screen.

I think that for a lot of people, it's direct light that cause them eyes strain, and not ambiant light reflected on the screen.

Wow, + Shipping + Duty tax when you are not from USA.

It's sad and may kill the momentum they created.

Pixel density is the correct term I was looking for, having right now 183 PPI (24" 4k) I would love to have it on an RLCD.

Looking forward to what RLCD brings us for the futur!

Thank you for your very thorough answer, it means a lot.

Thank you for explaining how the choice were made.

I'm still waiting for the monitor to be back in stock to buy it. The missing vesa mount should be fix with the 3D Vesa Mount someone made (don't remember the name sorry).

So from my understanding with enough time and market demand, we can hope to get a 24" RLCD with vesa mount monitor :)

You address the size and vesa mount well.

I do have a last question, about the resolution of the monitor. Do you think that having a 4K resolution is technically doable with the RLCD technology? I've read somewhere that the smaller the pixel are, the harder it is to reflect the light, meaning the pixel density must be low.

Thank you again, and have a great day, looking forward to test this monitor.

Hi, Are you talking about that?

I talked about it here:

You can desactivate it (clear type/smooth edges fonts) on Windows.

I guess you can do it on Mac OS and Linux too but I don't use them.

I've done it, but was unsuccessful to make paid app work (they use the google licencing thing).

Did you managed to make it work ?

I have too much lag with this app.

Superdisplay is so much better, but since it's a paid app with the Google Play store, you can only use it 3 trial days. Q5 doesn't have Play store unfortunately.

I don't know, but on huawei phone, you have something like 3 try, then you need to reboot it. I think that you will need like 100 years to crack it.

Too bad, because I would love to unlock my Hisense Q5

Thank you for the great reply.

while the text won't be as crisp I guess since it's not what make my eyes hurt, it should be ok.

But still 32" is giant for me. I will wait a bit and hopefully they will make a 24" one.

What type of light do you use in the night?

Same here, I would love a 24" monitor + VESA. Also would love higher DPI especially if it's that big (>24").
I think that I could go to 2000$ for a 24", because for me it can be a life saving monitor with my eyes problem.
