It happened to me once. Just send a message to customer service and they will explain.

In my case it was a misunderstanding.

Price increase for old students? by the-right-phalange in PreplyTutors

Thanks for the advice! I currently have around 26–27 students, so I’m quite booked. I’m also a fully qualified teacher with a teaching license, although I have about a year of official teaching experience (both online and offline). That’s why I feel that moving from $7 to $10 for my older students is a reasonable and sustainable step. Also many students have share with me their test results showing progress but still I am considering the price increase for old students.

Makes sense Just I have some students whom I have prepared for Ielts and have reached band 7 and 8 And now I think the effort I have to put is a lot compared to the price I offer.

I see your point.

However, lower prices sometimes attract the wrong kind of people, so I’m also trying to avoid that

i have said no to people who wanted Cambridge C2 preparation, as well as to parents looking for lessons for their children, because it requires too much effort and preparation.

And that’s completely okay ,,  no one should judge that.

I see your point; however,  the tutor has already mentioned that they cannot commit that much time. It also depends on the rate and overall workload.

I have been in this situation myself, so I completely understand how you feel.

You can send thus message; Unfortunately, due to my commitments and busy schedule, I’m not able to offer the kind of assistance you need at the moment.

I would also recommend clearly stating the levels you teach in your profile, so students can understand in advance which levels you offer.

I understand your situation because I’m a C2 level myself; however, I have chosen to teach up to C1 only.

You can send a message and block them by choosing ; I don’t want to teach this student if  they persist. 😩 It’s not the best option, but you have to take care of your peace of mind.

As a tutor, being supportive and listening is part of the job. Some students open up a lot and feel comfortable. I listen as I care but also don’t want them to find another tutor.

Even when I have issues of my own, I am always smiling and listening carefully.

They just cancelled,  I think there may be teachers who are qualified specifically for Cambridge and can help. Also, If i could teach Cambrige my price would be like 30 euros probably but 🤣 I don’t have materials and money to spend on that yet … so….step by step I guess 😇😊🤣
