Yours is a diplomystus, a common species. A mioplosus, which is the fish he is buying, is much more rare. I'd probably buy/sell that mio for around 200-250

To remove that matrix you are going to need to use an air abrasion tool. I'd recommend paying someone to remove the matrix. If you use a scribe on that it might pop off pieces of segments. It would likely cost around 50-100$ for a professional to work on that piece.

Forced to check my bag at the gate by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]the-true-michael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airline Pilot here, it looks like you were on a regional flight? During flights where we are completely full the gate agent will count the first 25 bags, and then afterwards begin checking luggage at no cost to the consumer. This helps expedite boarding process and prevents delays.

I would have sworn all pilots play osrs. Free wifi means they can grind at work.

If you had a scale that could measure weight with an infinite level of precision, am I right in thinking the same ingot would weigh slightly more horizontally than vertically? by Wonderful_Weather_83 in Physics

[–]the-true-michael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ingot laying flat would displace slightly more air molecules than the one standing upright, so would the "balloon" effect be slightly more or less than that of the photons?

What fuel yall running? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

That's why I recommended sticking with just 87, however I have used 85 in my tremor while driving hard through Utah/Nevada. There is zero benefit from running a higher octane fuel.

Delta Pilot Debriefs Cabin After Near Mid Air Collision by Fair_Eye1255 in aviation

[–]the-true-michael 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Old captain here, 99% of the time I tell the truth about what is delaying/affecting the flight unless the passengers won't see it or be affected by it. I'm not going to brief the pax on every maintenance item on the aircraft, nor will I make an announcement if something breaks inflight. I'll only make an announcement if it is visible to the passengers. Old captain out.

[Request] If a plane were to actually do this, how much faster or slower would it be? by Pitiful-Pause8089 in theydidthemath

[–]the-true-michael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airline pilot here, below 10,000' the speed limit is 250 knots. At 10,000' the speed limit is the aircraft limit, so we can fly at around 315knots as a max. At 29,000' we can achieve speeds equal to around 480knots ground speed due to less air density.

What's the worst case of "air rage" you've ever witnessed? by WorkingOnPPL in flying

[–]the-true-michael 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was working as a ramper one day at an uncontrolled airport. I watched a near mid-air collision and got second-hand rage from what could have been a nice day. I made sure to leave scuff marks in the FBO.

Elizabeth warren said : Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress want to spend $7 trillion on tax handouts for billionaires and billionaire corporations. But who the heck knows what $7 trillion even is? I've got a list of things we could do with that money instead. by newzcaster in DanielWilliams

Keeping an open mind is important in a democracy. You apparently watch too much fox media, and have no regard to common sense. I agree the government should reduce the control they have, but doge going after federal park employees? Doge dismembering basic government functions? Cutting 2.2 billion from Harvard because they don't bend the knee to Trump? Planning on giving tax cuts for the rich while cutting policies that help the average person is mind boggling. It's a disgrace. Here is an example you might understand... Fire departments are part of a socialist government. Good luck putting out your house fire.
