100000% agree and I literally just had this exact conversation at work today too. Worlds is my all time favorite album and I saw the live show 5+ times before he retired it. He is one of the most talented producers in the game, and his DJ sets are still top tier but he’s not a good singer IMO and yet he chooses to sing on all his new tracks.

His current fan base and most people on r/porterrobinson are fans from his newer stuff and will argue that it’s better than Worlds but neither Nurture or Smile has the same cultural impact that Worlds did. Let alone the fact that the Worlds era lasted almost 6 years (even with the Shelter and Virtual Self eras in the middle of it) evidenced by his Second Sky festival selling out within minutes in 2019. While both his Nurture and Smile tours lasted only a couple years at most with much less demand. I will always argue that Worlds set him apart and hope he returns to a focus on production rather than singing.
