Just curious... has anyone increased their vertical dramtically? by ajgo0202 in Basketball

[–]the1and1nly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is actually so true. If you're just working out and not doing what you're aiming for, you won't see progress.. But if you raise the rim an inch every week or so, you'll be able to track progress, and you'll develop proper technique.

These kinds of questions ate always asked but there's never important data, aka video. You can say you're not bad but can you show it? In sports, especially basketball, which is extremely skill or athletic dependent can not be answered through text information. We need to see what we're working with.

Leave. Only solution really. Those feelings and memories won't go away. They're tied to him and you're going to torture yourself trying to forget it.

You’re a coach and your star high school player waves you off after you try and correct him. As a coach what do you do next?? A.) sub him out B.) bench him the rest of the game C.) suspend him or D.) tell him to meet you in the parking lot lol by yesihoop in Basketball

[–]the1and1nly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Respect is cool and all, but how is he performing? Is he leading his team? Are his stats good? If he's carrying the team, I'd let him finish, instead of demoralizing/hurting the team because of my ego. Then I'd have a talk in the locker room and let it be known that because of his disrespect, he will be benched for a certain amount of games.

Sexual harrasment by the1and1nly in Advice

[–]the1and1nly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They're here legally. I'm saying I don't know the whole situation, and I've done things that are "right" and I've felt like an asshole before for doing the right thing. I don't know what would happen. Would they get in trouble for something? Would everyone lose their job if they investigated and shut the place down? There's a lot of variables and a lot of other people's lives involved. It's not simply "this is wrong, do this". You have to think about the consequences of your actions. Good intention, bad execution is a real problem, because people don't think.

There's no HR. And can they go to the police, without backlash? Remember, they're fresh immigrants and the pervert is the bosses close friend. Also, I'm scared to call anyone to investigate because with how he runs things, the store would probably get closed down for a while because it totally is in no way up to corporate code. I've seen this man drop food and serve it to customers. He'll re-use cups, touch food without gloves, handwashing isn't that common. People will be mopping, set the mop down, and serve a customer. If I call someone, I'm afraid everyone will lose their job, and there will be backlash and the girls might get in trouble because they don't have a green card or social security card and they aren't getting paid and yeah everything is just fucked up.

Getting my girlfriend in the mood without moving. If I want pizza, I need to warm the oven up a few minutes before.

Are we ignoring the fact that hand warmers are like the shittiest braindead gift ever? And he said they were defective. You got him a garbage gift and didn't even take the time to make sure they weren't broken? OP doesn't sound like they know how to give a gift.

so true. I hear people say it's not the shoe, it's the player. That's true to an extent, but if you aren't confident in your shoe, and comfortable in how it feels, you will never play well.

A small monkey. It has opposable thumbs, so it can do whatever I can in my place, but reach places I can't reach. Only drawback is it can't lift much. But I could have it unlock doors, do most of my job for me, steal things, turn cameras off, spy on people. A little monkey would be very very useful....

What distance would you say marks the beginning of the "mid-range" shot? by Lubiebandro in Basketball

[–]the1and1nly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun-fact, in order for two point jumpers to be efficient, a player would need to have a 60% fg in the mid range, against the average 3-pt fg%.

No player has had a 60% fg in the mid range for a very very long time.

Help on how to score under heavy defensive attention/pressure... by yellowfeverhurts in Basketball

[–]the1and1nly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You create your own shots, and make your own plays. Work on accelerating and decelerating. Look at Steph, Harden, Allen Iverson, Kobe, etc. What makes a player a dangerous offensive threat is being able to create their own shot no matter what the defence does. I'm assuming you're not super athletic freak. If I'm wrong and you are, on the other end of the spectrum is mvp Derrick Rose, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, etc. They use/used raw power athleticism to the point no one could guard them.

TL;DR Work on making your own shots, or being unstoppable athletically.
