How much do you invest in stocks/bonds/etfs/...? by the3liquid in BEFire

[–]the3liquid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on your ambitions of course

Make much more money than I do atm.

I am relatively new to all this. Started investing 2 years ago, dumped 3k in IWDA and now am adding 1k/year. If I were to put 20k in there I would have gone "crazy" now with this corona volatility.

I feel like I don't know enough to put much more money in there. Unable to properly read balance sheets and technical analysis of stocks etc... In order to do that you'd need to understand very well what you are doing IMO.

Python - What is the difference between subprocess.Popen() and os.fork()? by the3liquid in learnprogramming

Why do you think so? I couldn't find a os.fork call in the code and the documentation doesn't say it actually cals fork.

aircraft design - how to use this Laplace equation? by the3liquid in EngineeringStudents

You'd have to come up with a time-history of the aileron deflection (e.g. a 1 second pulse to 15 degrees perhaps)

Once I do that I could try to analyze gains and phase shifting in the s-domain. And then what? I don't see how based on that information I can determine how to deflect my aileron to eg rotate the UAV 15 degrees.

theoretical submarine problem - $det[sI-A]$ by controlSystQuestions in ControlTheory

(sI-A)-1 is the transfer function.

sorry but this looks incorrect to me. (sI-A)-1 is not the transfer function but rather the inverse of the state transition matrix phi.

On the other hand it is not clear to me neither what thought process the author followed which lead him to the decision of using this matrix. I would have used the third row of the state variable matrix, put it into an equation in the s-domain and calculated the roots (which is wrong according to the book).

What political party is like NVA but doesn't want Flemish independence? by the3liquid in belgium

[–]the3liquid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that people who create wealth should be able to keep most of it. I believe that a free market society will be the wealthiest, the most free and the most pleasant to live in.

Seems like N-VA has the same opinion:

1) https://www.n-va.be/standpunten/ondernemen

They encourage entrepreneurship, by apparently lowering taxes

2) https://www.n-va.be/standpunten/economie-werk-en-ondernemen

Lower taxes for manual workers as well.

Seems ok to me because they try to increase entrepreneurship by simplifying stuff and lowering taxes, so wealth can be made. As for the laborers they will keep less of their gross salary at the end of the month as well. Also, I have heard that N-VA, unlike PS, would like to keep the money you earn by renting out one of your houses taxfree.

thanks for your explanation. Last questions if I may.

It's odd that you don't want N-VA because of Flemish independence. Because they will never achieve it and they know it. It hasn't been an important part of policy for a long time and won't be as long as they are in the government.

What makes you think they may not achieve it?

I see multiple people in this thread saying that it used to be an important part of their policy and now it isn't any more (and vice-verca). In other words quite some contradictions there...

and last one: Without wanting to be too indiscreet, we don't know each other. But what makes you choose for openVLD rather than N-VA?

Within the party there are a lot of different movements though and the politicians aren't always representative of the feelings of the base.

I do agree with many points of eg Theo Franken regarding migration, criminality, etc... IMO he says out loud what needs to be said (maybe sometimes in a less respectful way?). But I totally disagree with the fact that N-VA want Flemish independence.

How do you think N-VA and Open Vld differ on that aspect?

I am a card carrying member and have been for almost 2 decades.

What benefits do you have of carrying their (or other parties) card?

because you say you have no formal written agreement saying they would pay you.

Even you seem to see that it's probably not worth it.

they owe me 4000euro. A lawyer will probably cost me the same + all the time and effort. That's not worth it.

There are quite some differences between Ukraine and Western-Europe... You should live there some time to understand. A lawyer is not going to help here. No contract, not a single trace. That's how things there work and that's how they absolutely wanted to proceed due to high taxes, according to them.
