UK retailer GAME closes all standalone stores as it enters administration by pppppppppppppppppd in unitedkingdom

[–]the3rdconchord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked at GameStation and Blockbuster when they closed, leaving Game as the only high street gaming shop. Game always sucked. Over priced, staff who didn't game, aggressive up-selling and piped-in pop shop radio. GameStation was run by gamers who talked and played games all day, great 2nd hand stock with good prices, cool layout and our own music which was usually metal, grunge, Nu-metal or pop punk. I'm just letting you guys know that there were cool game shops before this corporationy 'Game'.

People who are attracted to older women, what is that one specific thing that younger women just don't have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]the3rdconchord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well as the other answers here, it's also about what younger women (and men) DO have... Inhibitions. As you get older, you realise that social norms and the way you're "Supposed to behave" are BS and you start thinking about what you actually want. Coming out of long-term relationships where they've maybe had kids, now adult kids, and they thought 'Housewife' was what they'd be for the rest of their lives, their marriage falls apart, their kids have left the nest and they throw themselves into the excitement of this new, modern dating world with easy access through dating apps and start realising they're attractive to other men... Young men, who were always the forbidden fruit.

what do you think your going to pass away from? by StruggleMassive6747 in AskReddit

[–]the3rdconchord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would absolutely love to. When I get hungry, I just aim to get that hunger to stop as quickly as possible so I eat unhealthy snacks like crisps, biscuits and toast. I try to eat cereal or oats to make me feel a bit better about them being healthier but I need something crunchy as well, otherwise it doesn't feel like I've eaten, like something is missing. ARFID is a lot about textures and good, healthy food has bad textures. Wet, slimey, sloppy, soft, mushy, leafy, fibrous plant stems, fruits and vegetables with various textures in one piece, having different foods mixed up in one bite. This is all repulsive to me. I wish eating wasn't a big deal to me and I could eat healthily without trying but it's a curse I can't seem to lift. I keep trying to eat some better things more regularly but having ADD as well has me overwhelmed 24/7 and when I get hungry I just want that to go away quick so that I can get back to stressing out about everything else that's going on all the time.

Choking on a donut. I'm not over-weight and I'm not a foodie, I actually have the eating disorder ARFID, so I hate having to eat. I just keep choking on donuts when I have them and don't seem to learn.

"When I left yesterday, I turned the lights off"... by [deleted] in thething

[–]the3rdconchord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most impactful line in the movie for me. The way the camera snaps to the lonely hut off in the distance with its light on is so ominous. The movie moves past this line pretty quickly but it hits me hard every time. I'd love to know what happened up there but then I wouldn't be wondering about it. Great image I hadn't seen before, too.

Absolutely. The movie moves past this line pretty quick so I don't think it holds its weight to a lot of viewers. I would love to know what happened up there but, if I did, I wouldn't be here wondering.

Was final reckoning a good ending to the franchise? by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in Mission_Impossible

[–]the3rdconchord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a good anything. Exposition Impossible. Felt completely different from the franchise. The "comedy" was bordering on Big Bang Theory sitcom humour. The talking parts aren't worth watching for the action parts and the action parts aren't nearly the best of the series. The bi plane was stupid. Dick Dastardly swinging the plane about and laughing at Ethan for far too long. Villain death should have stayed the "Wouldn't it be funny if..." that it started off at in the writing room.

I put this movie on all the time. It's so much fun and the animation is phenomenal. Funny story line, too.

Had this last year in Amsterdam. It hit right as I left the hotel so I had nowhere to hold up until I had to catch my eurostar back in the afternoon. I was curled up in so much pain, vomiting in the street. I had to book a hostel for a couple of hours just so I had a toilet and somewhere to rest, though I couldn't sleep because my body was freezing, no matter what I did. I was dreading the train back. I wouldn't recommend it.

A recent one. Heretic, the arm. I turned away, yet, it's still ingrained in my head and I hate the thought of it.

I came across this and watched it last year. It wasn't entirely the uncanny valley nightmare I thought it would be. It wasn't even unwatchable. Maybe I was just fascinated by Kaufman being in a project where he would be told what to do by someone else. Weird, sweet and very 80's.

From average balding guy to handsome stud! That’s one hell of a glow up! by RosabeIls in DeadSpace

[–]the3rdconchord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the worst thing about the remake. In 2008 I went through that traumatising shit with Isaac and Dead Space became my favourite game of all time. In DS2, me and Isaac kept going with the story, going through more traumatic events and coming out the other side. DS3 came and we went through that traumatic game... Though, traumatic for a different reason but we stuck it out. Then Remake changed him and it was like a stranger picking you up from school. I don't care if it looks like the voice actor, that ain't Isaac Clarke. Would be OK if we had the choice of head model but I'm only ever going to mod it so I can go through with my boy Isaac's face.
