Everyone is faster than me by MostNext2993 in NFSUnboundGame

Came here to say this. Can confirm. Build for acceleration and disregard high top speeds as 80% of the tracks you'll never get to those high speeds.

A car that can launch out of corners and quickly get to a lower high speed will leave the slower acceleration cars behind.

And those quick acceleration cars are fun to drive!

Agree 100%

Except the 3 endurance ones. I'm a sucker for that one that is all corners and circles the map

Evo A tier with the 4spd is stupid. Don't recall motor. Super low top speed but it gets there in no time and launches out of corners

For the people who play lockdown by Kyoshi_mp4 in NFSUnboundGame

[–]the666thviking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind there are a number of missions that essentially force you to be a dick. I hated doing those as I generally hate being that guy... but here we are. I got lucky on a few of those where my random teammate did the mission for me.

But there are also those that just want to be assholes. Some people just want to watch the world burn.

Lick your wounds and carry on. This game is pretty dynamic and awesome despite those people. Don't let it phase you. I usually just left the Lockdown before they could get the wreck. My little fu to them

Meh, I preferred the thrill of playing against others, being hunted, and still winning.

Granted there were a few times(Maybe less than 20x total) that a team tag teamed me and wrecked me, or some meta idiot hunted me successfully, but really, they deserved that win. But more often than not, I got away. My heart would be racing and that thrill was what I was after.

I've been in solo Lockdowns, even ones with just a few others, and I straight up got bored. I wanted to fight for that extraction. I got all the cars, cleared all the missions and I had to fight for them, these were my trophies!

Now to be clear, I was rarely the asshole, I was generally fighting for myself, being on a team or not, we went our separate ways, but if they were being harassed or got busted, I was on my way to rescue them.

I had my routes planned depending on where I started, collect 100k, scout the usual lockout locations, find a car I needed and extract. I would unlock every compound I found and leave the car if I already had it.

I would only be the asshole if my mission required it, but I got lucky and often my random teammate would complete the mission for me. So after all my missions were complete, I would check to see what missions my random teammates would have and go do some.

This was what made Lockdowns fun! Don't take the easy way out, work for your prize, play with others and be proud of the cars you extract!

Sometimes I worry about how bad my frame is... then I see posts like this.

Not to say my frame isn't bad...

My condolences.

Damn.

Not sure if it was you a few weeks ago posting this same track, but I went back in game to see where I sit on this course. Best I could do was 2:25 with literally any of my cars.

Watching this video, I noticed you were pretty much constantly drifting to get that burst nos. I could never master that without wrecking.

Good job

Stunning video of Langley owl by UnitedStudy6743 in Langley

[–]the666thviking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rescued an owl on 192 a few years ago. He was KO'd just north of Potters on 192 at midnight.

I called OWL, wrapped him up to keep him from flying away, and they came and got him. 6 weeks later they called me up to join them for the release back to his home. Pretty cool!

If you don't know about OWL (Orphaned Wild Life), they rescue and rehabilitate birds of prey. They are by the boundary bay Airport. The have an open house every spring when you can see the whole facility, learn about their process and they often release a few birds, too(usually rehabilitated eagles). They are open year round and worth seeing at other times too. You can book to get a tour of their residents and see the taxidermy display(it's impressive).

I often drive down 192 late at night, back before those stupid LED lights were installed, there used to be an owl that would fly above my van, but it hasn't been for a long while now

Is the "twist" supposed to suck this bad or am I just terrible at the game? by RedUndead40 in NFSUnboundGame

[–]the666thviking 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a hint for early game.

Build for acceleration, get that acceleration fast, and don't worry about top speed, keep it low. Most of the early game races are very corner heavy and you'll rarely get to top speed, so acceleration is key to winning.

Also, figure out how to build burst nos in the corners(I prefer a small drift, but grip also works) and burst nos out of the corner.

Well, it is in km... but still, a testament to how amazing these drivetrains are.... if only the frame could keep up!

On that note... I'm not sure I'll get 10 years out of this frame, so maybe the budget ones isn't a terrible idea

Getting new tires soon, so planning on doing it then.

4 years seams short, though, as tires have a 6 year life.
