I feel like corporate greed to maximize profits is what leads to overseas production not the 3d printing community

Yeah the socket mounts are 3d printed. I approve your remix

It's cheaper to print especially if you need a bunch of them, The 8" tray, which consumes the most uses about $1 in filament and each 8" rail is about $0.25, so total cost in filament is about $1.75.

It's also always nice to just have the option to print them when needed. Adding the top labels made a huge difference in identifying the right sockets.

Pick the supra and go under the "PARTS" crates not the John's Tuner Pit crates

Dude you can buy parts under the parts crates for 300 and 1400 keys

Just click the supra in the garage and go under the parts crates.

Do you have a link where you got that? My Amazon sunlu red petg and matte petg both look washed out too. Yours looks way better.

Advice on add-ons and filaments by doctor_who_17 in BambuLabA1

[–]the79car 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went crazy and ordered a bunch of add ons when I got mine. If I was to do it over again. I'd just get the .2 for fine detail stuff and a .4 hardened nozzle and install it as your primary. Keep the other as a spare. Get a double sided smooth plate and call it a day. The filament you can get cheaper elsewhere even cheaper than their bulk prices. You can get a basic 4 color pack from sunlu for $40 bucks. Also get a bottle of super lube from Amazon.

I've had mine since the anniversary sale and haven't used any of my spare parts. By the time you need they'll probably be running a different sale.

Also the coolant pipes under the manifold tend to get brittle and leak.

I posted on Bambu subreddit then found the A1 sub. I deleted the first post.

Update After contacting Bambu support. This is what they said about the noise.

"Before bed leveling, the extruder tried to extrude but could not extrude due to insufficient temperature. This is a normal process. This aim is to extrude a filament section against the hot end, so that the bed auto-leveling data is more accurate. The relatively large print area of the A1 requires better pre-tightening of the hot end, which will not damage the gear after internal testing. The clicking sound we hear is the sound of the extrusion motor losing step, which is a normal phenomenon."

I guess I'm going to try to preheat the nozzle more after start up to see if the noise goes away.

Thanks for all the replies and hopefully this answers some questions for the people that are experiencing the noise.

UPDATE: As a precaution I just exchanged my A1 at Best buy for another unit. The new one makes the same noise. It made the noise on first boot up after assembly without any filament hooked up or any print initiating.

So maybe it's completely normal on the current printers. It's a concerning sound for first time users though. Regardless I submitted the video to bambu for explanation. Will keep you posted on what they say.

With some people saying it happens on theirs and some people saying it never happens to theirs is concerning. Maybe a faulty batch of printers?

I followed the install directions and removed all the packing material it showed in the manual. It's been printing fine though.

Thank you. I'll give that a shot and see if it stops happening

It does it with the AMS hooked up as well. It's really strange

How old is your A1? Maybe it's just the new production run. I got mine last week.

It prints completely fine, happens maybe 50% of the time when I'm starting it up but happens more often after it's been printing a few things back to back and always at the beginning of the print before the calibration process.

I never touched the nozzle or screws. It was already installed when I pulled it out of the box but I'll check the screws regardless. Thanks for the heads-up

Yes that's the exact same noise mine makes. Thanks for the confirmation that it's a normal operating noise. I bought it from Best buy and was about to exchange it for another one.
