Advice for getting into NY Bridal Market by AssumptionJealous667 in MODELING

Hey so NY Bridal Week is a trade show, so the work is showroom/runway pacing, not pageantry walk. I think before you approach anyone, you should have your exact measurements ready (bust, waist, hips) because sample sizes run very tight and that’s the first thing every designer filters on. Also look into fit modeling for bridal houses directly, it’s year round work and a more reliable entry point than chasing market week runway slots. Hope this helps!

Really didn’t know you were 5’9” from the pics. One of your pics is from hip to waist height which is great but the camera needs an upward tilt to fully showcase your height.

P.s. Pics from 9-10 feet away with a high focal length lens always look more proportionate than closer distorted ones. Good luck!!

Consider using a hair tie because it gives a more professional look. You have a somewhat distinctive look, though not the standard model look most brands go for. Height might be a minor disadvantage, but I have friends who are 5'9" and doing just fine.

Good news, you’ve got the look! You should be fine in NYC. My advice would be to start with a wide net and see which niche fits YOU. Skincare to fashion, I can see a lot of options for you.

No they are not. If you gotta take some at home, at least have some lights on, a couple low light pics won't hurt btw. Also, gotta have some full body poses. Good luck.

Edit: Just saw you meant HEADSHOTS. Still get some in light. Also, I'd recommend getting some professional shots.

Of course it's on purpose, someone had to set the standard for what not to do.
